Job Purpose

This role serves as a senior technical expert in multibody dynamics for engine and driveline systems. The engineer will develop, apply, and advance simulation methods used to evaluate and optimize chain-drive systems for engine timing, transmission, transfer case, and powersports applications. The position combines system modelling, product development, and enhancement of proprietary engineering software to improve model accuracy, shorten analysis cycles, and enable data-driven design decisions. The engineer will also provide technical direction across global engineering teams and support customer and manufacturing needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multibody dynamics analysis to guide the design and development of driveline and chain-drive products.
  • Build, validate, and apply dynamic system models to predict functional performance and identify design improvements.
  • Optimize system performance through evaluation of layout geometry, hydraulic characteristics, stiffness, loading, and other relevant design parameters.
  • Develop, improve, validate, and support proprietary software, engineering models, and automation routines used for driveline systems analysis.
  • Own and advance analysis methods, procedures, and technical standards to improve capability, accuracy, repeatability, and efficiency.
  • Define and execute elements of the analysis technology roadmap, including evaluation and implementation of new simulation techniques and software capabilities.
  • Plan and coordinate technical work, software development activities, milestones, and priorities across multiple projects.
  • Provide technical direction, peer review, and problem-solving support to global colleagues in analysis, product development, application engineering, testing, and production implementation.
  • Lead technical discussions with customers and global engineering teams, clearly communicating assumptions, findings, risks, and recommendations.
  • Investigate new designs, materials, and analysis approaches that improve product performance, cost, quality, or manufacturing efficiency.
  • Generate and document intellectual property associated with product, analysis-method, or proprietary software innovations, as appropriate.
  • Support manufacturing locations in resolving product issues and identifying opportunities for improved quality, efficiency, and design cost.

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in related fields such as Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, Applied Mechanics, or Engineering Physics.
  • 8+ years of related engineering experience, including multibody dynamics, system simulation, driveline analysis, or a comparable technical field. And
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, including experience translating complex simulation results into practical engineering recommendations.
  • Proficiency with 2D and 3D multibody dynamics modelling tools such as ANSYS Motion, Siemens Simcenter, FunctionBay RecurDyn, or comparable platforms.
  • Knowledge of automotive, propulsion, or related mechanical system dynamics
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage multiple technical projects, priorities, and timelines.
  • Clear communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence technical decisions and work effectively with colleagues, customers, and suppliers across functions, cultures, and locations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, Applied Mechanics, Engineering Physics, or a related field, with emphasis in modelling and simulation.
  • Advanced experience creating engineering software, numerical methods, scripts, or automation workflows for simulation and data processing.
  • Understanding of automotive mechanical systems including internal combustion engines, hybrid systems, transmissions, and transfer cases.
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink programming
  • Experience with CAD software for product design and development.
  • Familiarity with statistical methods for data analysis.
  • Experience with NVH, fatigue, tribology, frequencies, order mapping, model verification, and test correlation.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
