Job Description

About the Role

We're looking for a creative, organized, and detail-oriented Co-op to join our Creative team. This role is part of a six-month co-op program running from January 4, 2027, through June 25, 2027, and follows a hybrid work schedule based out of our Seaport Corporate Office.

This position offers hands-on experience supporting the development, production, and fulfillment of point-of-sale materials across Boston Beer Company's portfolio of nationally recognized brands.

The Creative POS Design & Production Co-op will help manage custom and everyday point-of-sale requests submitted through MerchTank, supporting projects from initial intake through final production and delivery. The Co-op will contribute to creative initiatives including point-of-sale materials, can designs, packaging updates, retail buildouts, brand activations, and other projects that support business and brand objectives.

This role provides a unique opportunity to combine creative design, print production, project management, and cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced consumer packaged goods environment. The Co-op will work closely with Creative, Brand, Marketing, and Sales partners while gaining a practical understanding of how creative assets support retail execution, field sales, brand strategy, and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Manage Custom and Everyday POS Requests

  • Coordinate custom and everyday point-of-sale projects submitted through MerchTank.
  • Manage projects from initial intake and creative development through production, fulfillment, and final delivery.
  • Review project requirements and collaborate with internal partners to clarify requests, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Help ensure completed materials meet project specifications, brand standards, and business needs.

Support Creative Design and Brand Initiatives

  • Assist with the design and development of point-of-sale materials, can designs, packaging updates, retail buildouts, and other creative assets.
  • Support creative projects that align with brand objectives and retail execution needs.
  • Work alongside brand designers to prepare, revise, and finalize project files.
  • Participate in creative reviews, project discussions, and other stages of the design process.

Execute Print Production and Fulfillment

  • Support the production of point-of-sale materials through the in-house print room.
  • Print, cut, package, and prepare materials for shipment to field teams and other business partners.
  • Review completed materials for quality and accuracy before fulfillment.
  • Help ensure projects are produced and delivered according to established timelines.

Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams

  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Brand, and Creative teams to support project and business needs.
  • Respond to incoming requests and help identify effective creative and production solutions.
  • Communicate project updates, requirements, and potential issues to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Build strong working relationships with designers, creative professionals, and cross-functional partners.

Maintain Project Tracking and Operational Support

  • Manage project workflows and track assignments, deliverables, revisions, approvals, and deadlines.
  • Organize creative files, project information, and supporting assets.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to help ensure the efficient execution of Creative POS projects.
  • Identify workflow or production issues and assist with practical solutions.
  • Balance a high volume of projects while maintaining quality, accuracy, and attention to detail.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Marketing, Advertising, Fine Arts, or a related field and continue to be enrolled after the completion of their Co-op.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Basic understanding of typography, visual hierarchy, and design layout principles.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with creative and cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to participate in both creative design assignments and hands-on print production and fulfillment activities.
  • Curiosity, initiative, and eagerness to develop new creative, technical, and professional skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Previous experience applying typography and layout principles through coursework, internships, student organizations, or personal projects.
  • Experience preparing creative files for print or digital production.
  • Familiarity with graphic production, print operations, packaging design, or point-of-sale materials.
  • Interest in consumer brands, packaging, retail design, and creative operations.
  • A portfolio or examples of relevant design work completed through academic, professional, or personal projects.

What You'll Gain

Key Learning and Development Opportunities

  • Develop project management and workflow coordination skills by managing custom POS requests from intake through completion.
  • Gain hands-on experience in graphic production, print operations, fulfillment, and shipping processes.
  • Build cross-functional communication skills through collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Brand, and Creative teams.
  • Learn how creative assets and point-of-sale materials support brand strategy, retail execution, field sales, and business growth.
  • Strengthen technical design, production, quality-control, and problem-solving skills through real-world creative projects.
  • Gain practical experience balancing project volume, creative expectations, production requirements, and delivery timelines.

Mentorship and Professional Development

The Co-op will receive ongoing mentorship from their direct manager and the designated brand designer supporting the Co-op throughout the six-month program. This support will include regular coaching, project feedback, technical guidance, and opportunities to develop effective creative and professional working habits.

The Co-op will also work closely with fellow designers and other creative professionals, gaining exposure to different areas of design and production. Collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Brand, and Creative partners will help the student strengthen communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder-management skills.

Additional Exposure and Experiences

  • Take ownership of approximately 350 to 400 real-world projects during the six-month co-op term.
  • Gain exposure to nationally recognized brands, including Twisted Tea, Sun Cruiser, Truly, Samuel Adams, and Angry Orchard.
  • Participate in packaging projects, can design, retail buildouts, custom POS development, and photo shoots.
  • Support field sales teams and develop an understanding of how creative execution contributes to business results.
  • Contribute to high-visibility brand initiatives with real-world business applications.
  • Gain insight into creative operations, print production, marketing, brand management, and retail execution within a fast-paced consumer packaged goods environment.
  • Build tangible portfolio experience that supports future careers in graphic design, creative production, packaging design, brand marketing, print production, or creative operations.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
