The posting

Company Overview

BotCity brings governance to the code AI writes. AI turned asking into code, and every business user is now a developer. The Python they generate runs on corporate workstations outside any pipeline, inventory, or approval flow, and nothing in the enterprise stack was built to see it. BotCity Sentinel governs that code where it runs: a script-level inventory of what executes, where, and by whom, contextual policies that allow, alert, or block, and a remediation loop where the author makes the first fix. Security asks whether code is malicious. Governance asks whether it should run, here, by this person. We built Sentinel to own the second question. Today it's Python. Tomorrow it's every line of code AI writes.

BotCity serves 1,000+ teams in 70+ countries, including customers as Bayer and LG. We raised a $12M Series A led by Four Rivers, with participation from Y Combinator, SoftBank, and founders and investors including Lew Cirne (New Relic), Rod Johnson (SpringSource), and Walter Kortschak (Summit Partners and Firestreak Ventures). G2 named BotCity one of the world's top 25 emerging platforms.

We are a remote company with teams across the US, Canada and LATAM. Small team, large customers, a category forming around us. If you want real ownership over a problem that matters, we should talk.

Role Overview

The Senior Frontend Engineer will own and evolve the front-end of BotCity's products, delivering intuitive, fast and reliable experiences at enterprise scale. This role will ship user-friendly, high-quality features that directly improve customer experience, set the front-end standards and playbook that help the team scale, and raise the team's bar through code reviews, pairing and knowledge sharing. This role is a product-minded engineer with proven experience owning complex React, Next.js and TypeScript projects, a can-do attitude, close collaboration with Product and UX, and a habit of seeking, giving and acting on feedback. The role reports to the Engineer Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, deploy, and maintain scalable, responsive web applications using modern front-end technologies (focus on desktop with some mobile, which could evolve with time).
  • Collaborate with product managers and UX/UI designers to understand requirements, ensure its technical feasibility, and translate them into technical, user-friendly solutions.
  • Maintain and improve the company’s front-end codebase by refactoring legacy code and implementing best practices ensuring performance across multiple devices and browsers.
  • Lead code reviews of both human and AI-generated changes, mentor mid-level engineers through review and pairing.
  • Identify and troubleshoot front-end issues using observability tools (datadog, sentry) and evidence, telling verified facts from assumptions weighing trade-offs.
  • Write reusable code and libraries for future use, optimizing components for maximum speed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience (6+ years) as a software engineer, with 3+ years on complex front-end projects alongside Product/UX/UI teams.
  • Solid software engineering fundamentals: clean code, design patterns, component architecture and state management.
  • Automated testing (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright/Cypress) and front-end performance optimization.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and TypeScript, with expertise on frameworks including React and Next.
  • Experience with version control system tools such as Git and GitHub.
  • Experience working with MS Office/Excel, Google Suite, Notion.
  • Portuguese - Fluent.
  • English - Advanced.
  • Drives initiatives to completion with accountability, takes calculated risks with the customer in mind, and knows when to escalate.
  • Starts from customer needs and works backwards, executing carefully at the detail level without losing sight of the big picture.
  • Communicates proactively, clearly and concisely, respectfully challenges decisions and commits fully once they're made, and actively seeks, gives and acts on feedback.
  • Prior experience in an early-stage, high-growth, and fast-paced startup environment.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support events and meet the team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant hands-on experience with desktop-focused products in a tech-intensive industry.
  • Experience working with MS Office/Excel, Google Suite, Notion, Slack.
  • CI/CD and front-end observability (e.g., GitHub Actions, Sentry).

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
