This role regularly collaborates with Legal, P&C, and business leaders while managing sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of professionalism and discretion.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive compliance excellence across the United States, with a particular emphasis on California employment laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Analyze, compile, and provide complete and accurate P&C documentation in response to requests from Legal, regulatory agencies, and internal partners.
  • Review and evaluate personnel records and related documentation, preparing concise summaries, analyses, and reports in accordance with legal guidance.
  • Partner with Legal and P&C teams to interpret records, assess compliance obligations, and determine adherence to applicable employment laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate, maintain, and monitor compliance reporting processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with established deadlines.
  • Research, monitor, and interpret changes to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, proactively identifying potential impacts to the organization.
  • Conduct detailed analyses of information, documentation, and employment-related records; communicate observations, recommendations, and potential compliance risks to key partners.
  • Prepare responses to state agency inquiries and claims, including wage and hour claims, by gathering, reviewing, and analyzing documentation and preparing comprehensive, fact-based responses.
  • Perform audits of P&C records, processes, and documentation to evaluate compliance, identify gaps, and ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and company requirements.
  • Utilize critical thinking and sound judgment to assess complex situations, identify trends, and recommend practical solutions to compliance-related issues.
  • Handle highly confidential employee and business information with discretion, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Support the development, review, and maintenance of compliance-related training materials and resources.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding P&C policies, records, compliance matters, and processes.
  • Leverage HRIS and reporting tools to analyze workforce data, identify potential compliance concerns, and support informed decision-making.
  • Build effective working relationships and communicate regularly with field management, P&C leaders, Legal, and other business partners through advanced written and verbal communication.
  • Perform HRIS data entry, record maintenance, and system updates while ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Prepare professional correspondence, reports, presentations, spreadsheets, summaries, and other business documents.
  • Participate in special projects and other compliance- or records-related initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Minimum of 4 to 5 years of professional experience in Human Resources, compliance, legal support, records management, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting employment law, regulatory compliance, investigations, audits, or legal matters preferred.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations, with multi-state experience required and California employment law experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically, analyze complex information, assess risk, and develop well-supported conclusions and recommendations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to identify patterns, trends, inconsistencies, and potential compliance concerns.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, including the ability to analyze data and prepare professional reports and documentation.
  • Experience using HRIS platforms and reporting tools to manage records and support compliance-related activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information clearly and professionally to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical handling of sensitive information.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
