This role plays a critical part in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant equipment through the effective execution of preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance programs. Working closely with Operations, Safety, Quality, and Engineering teams, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage maintenance budgets and resources, and contribute to operational excellence across the site.
If you thrive in a hands-on manufacturing environment and enjoy leading teams, solving complex technical challenges, and improving plant performance, this is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
In this role, you will:
- Lead preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance activities to maximise equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate maintenance resources, schedules, contractors, spare parts, and technical support to ensure timely execution of maintenance work.
- Drive a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with Bradken's safety standards, environmental requirements, and contractor management processes.
- Analyse major equipment failures, lead root cause investigations, and implement sustainable corrective actions to improve plant performance.
- Lead plant shutdown planning, execution, and continuous improvement initiatives, including CAPEX projects, equipment upgrades, and reliability improvements.
- Manage maintenance budgets, inventories, documentation, and team performance while fostering a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Proven experience in maintenance engineering within a manufacturing, foundry, heavy industry, or industrial plant environment.
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, condition monitoring, and reliability improvement practices.
- Experience leading maintenance teams, managing contractors, and coordinating plant shutdowns or major maintenance activities.
- Demonstrated experience in root cause analysis, equipment troubleshooting, and continuous improvement projects.
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS/EAM) and maintenance planning processes.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety, environmental compliance, and risk management principles.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions.
