Job Summary: As a Grocery Lead, you will work closely with the Assistant Store Director - Grocery to oversee the operations of the grocery department. Your responsibilities will include assisting with inventory management, stocking shelves, providing customer service, and supporting team members. Join us in ensuring the availability of a wide selection of grocery products and creating a welcoming environment for our customers.

Examples of Duties:

Assist the Assistant Store Director - Grocery in managing inventory levels and ordering products to maintain adequate stock levels. Stock shelves and displays with new merchandise, ensuring items are neatly arranged and properly labeled. Provide assistance to customers, including answering inquiries, locating products, and resolving issues or concerns. Assist with training and supervising grocery department staff, including scheduling and assigning tasks. Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling and storage of perishable items. Monitor department cleanliness and organization, including cleaning shelves, displays, and work areas. Collaborate with team members to implement merchandising strategies and promotional activities to drive sales. Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Store Director - Grocery or store management.

Knowledge:

Basic knowledge of grocery products and categories. Familiarity with inventory management principles and stocking procedures. Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations related to grocery products. Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.

Skills:

Organization: Skill in managing tasks and priorities to ensure efficient department operations. Communication: Clear and effective communication skills for interacting with customers and team members. Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure accuracy in stocking shelves and organizing products. Teamwork: Collaboration with coworkers to achieve department goals and provide excellent service.

Abilities:

Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and handle various tasks as needed. Customer Focus: Commitment to providing exceptional service and meeting the needs of customers. Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift and carry heavy objects. Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and address issues related to inventory management and customer service.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required. Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
