ByteDance E-commerce is building an innovative commerce ecosystem that connects consumers, merchants, creators, and brands through content and technology.

The Lifestyle team is responsible for building and growing a diverse ecosystem of categories, merchants, brands, and sellers across areas such as Home Improvement, Automotive & Motorcycle, and Hobbies & Leisure.

We work closely with sellers, brands, distributors, creators, and internal teams to build compelling assortments, unlock new growth opportunities, and create better ways for consumers to discover and purchase lifestyle products.

About the Role

As a Category Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of sellers, brands, and distributors within a key Lifestyle category. You will act as a commercial growth partner to your sellers, building strong relationships, understanding their business priorities, identifying performance gaps, and developing strategies to grow their business on ByteDance E-commerce.

Beyond account management, you will also contribute to category growth initiatives, working with internal teams to identify market opportunities, improve assortment, develop new business models, and unlock growth through campaigns, pricing, content, LIVE, creators, and affiliate solutions.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong relationship management with commercial acumen and analytical problem-solving, someone who can manage today's business while proactively identifying opportunities to build tomorrow's category.

Responsibilities: - Manage Strategic Seller & Brand Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key sellers, brands, distributors, and merchants, understanding their business models, priorities, challenges, and growth ambitions. - Drive Account Growth: Develop account growth plans and Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with key partners, identifying opportunities across assortment, pricing, promotions, campaigns, content, LIVE, creators, and affiliate. - Own Business Performance: Monitor account and portfolio performance, analyze GMV and key operating metrics, identify performance gaps, and develop actionable plans to improve business results. - Develop Category Opportunities: Identify emerging consumer trends, assortment gaps, merchant opportunities, and competitive dynamics to support the growth of the Lifestyle category. - Drive Commercial Initiatives: Work with sellers and brands to maximize participation in major campaigns, promotional programs, content initiatives, LIVE commerce, and other commercial opportunities. - Unlock Content & Commerce Growth: Partner with sellers, creators, agencies, and internal teams to improve content supply and develop opportunities across short video, LIVE, creator, and affiliate commerce. - Build New Business Opportunities: Support and develop new initiatives relevant to the category, such as Live Auction, O2O/in-store pickup, B2B commerce, or other emerging commerce models, turning new opportunities into scalable business programs. - Improve Seller Performance: Identify operational and commercial challenges faced by sellers and work with relevant teams to develop solutions that improve assortment, conversion, content quality, fulfillment, and overall seller performance. - Partner Across Functions: Work closely with IMC, Creator, Agency, Campaign, Operations, Product, and other cross-functional teams to solve merchant challenges and unlock new growth opportunities. - Drive Category Development: Contribute insights from merchants and the market to category planning, helping the team identify where to invest, which merchant segments to develop, and how to accelerate category growth.

Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or above, with 3+ years of experience in account management, key account management, business development, sales, e-commerce, category management, or related commercial roles. - Proven experience managing and growing relationships with brands, distributors, retailers, sellers, or other commercial partners. - Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to understand a partner's business model, identify growth opportunities, and translate them into actionable plans. - Strong communication, relationship management, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with external partners. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use business data to identify performance gaps and growth opportunities. - Strong ownership and execution ability, with the ability to independently manage multiple accounts and drive initiatives from planning through execution.

Preferred Qualifications - Experience in e-commerce, marketplace, consumer internet, retail, or digital commerce. - Relevant experience in Automotive & Motorcycle, Hobbies & Leisure, Home Improvement, or other Lifestyle-related categories. - Existing relationships with brands, distributors, specialist retailers, or high-potential marketplace sellers within the relevant category. - Experience developing Joint Business Plans, account growth strategies, commercial proposals, or strategic partnerships. - Understanding of e-commerce growth levers including assortment, pricing, promotions, campaigns, content, LIVE, creators, affiliate, and advertising. - Experience working with creator, agency, marketing, or other ecosystem partners to develop commercial opportunities. - Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, with the ability to analyze business performance and present clear recommendations. - Entrepreneurial mindset with the curiosity to identify new opportunities and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
