The posting

About the company

Cahira Technologies Inc is an MIT spinoff company founded by Prof. Deblina Sarkar (https://web.mit.edu/deblina-sarkar/). We are building novel sub-cellular sized wireless electronic devices that seamlessly integrate with the brain, enabling brain-computer symbiosis beyond conventional brain-computer interfaces.

About the role

We are seeking a neuroscientist with strong in vivo experience, particularly in electrophysiological techniques. Hands-on expertise in performing in vivo electrical recordings (LFP, Action Potential) using implanted intracranial electrodes in live animals (mice and/or rats) is essential. Applicants must have demonstrated experience in this area to be considered.

Our primary research involves rodent models (mice and rats), with plans to expand into large animal studies in the near future. Experience with any of the following methods is highly valued but not mandatory: patch clamp (in cultured cells or brain slices), fiber photometry, two-photon calcium imaging, and optogenetics. Familiarity with neuromodulation or studies of neural plasticity using electrical stimulation is also desirable.

Additional experience with non-invasive imaging techniques—such as fMRI, DTI, PET, or MEG—is considered a plus but is not required.

Applicants should have a solid foundation in neuroscience with a strong understanding of neural circuits.

Important: Please include a separate section titled "Skills" in your CV, clearly listing your in vivo, in vitro, and other relevant scientific/technical competencies.

Qualifications

Required:

  • PhD in neuroscience, biology, bioengineering or relevant field
  • Experience with mouse/rats surgery, stereotactic injections and implanting electrodes
  • Experience in electrical recording (LFP, action potential) from mice/rats’ brain/spinal cord with electrodes
  • Experience with testing animal behavior
  • Experience with data analysis

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with electrical stimulation
  • Experience in fMRI, DTI, PET, MEG
  • Experience in Patch clamping in cultured cells or live slices
  • Fiber photometry or 2-photon calcium imaging or optogenetics skills
  • Experience in studying neural plasticity with electrical stimulation
  • Experience with stem cells, 3D cultures and organoids

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
