The posting

AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea · Engineering MRO · Competitive salary, plus accommodation and annual return travel to home country.

Cakum Global is recruiting an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor for a regional airline operator in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.

Role Overview

This is a hands-on supervisory role within an MRO facility, combining technical authority with shift leadership. You will ensure engineering work is carried out in accordance with the company's Quality Management System — on budget, on time, and in a safe and controlled working environment. The position reports functionally to the Aircraft Maintenance Manager and operationally to the Manager Aircraft Maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision — direct maintenance activity on shift, maintaining a personal physical presence on site or in the immediate vicinity of the work being carried out
  • Leadership — lead and develop the maintenance team, reporting to the Aircraft Maintenance Manager at the start of each shift
  • Tool management — control, calibration and serviceability of tooling and equipment
  • Compliance — work to the Maintenance Organisation Exposition, CASA PNG regulations and CASA Part 145 requirements
  • Reporting — aircraft status reporting and maintenance performance data
  • Training and discipline — capability development and workplace standards within the team
  • Coordination — liaise with the General Manager MRO, Manager Aircraft Maintenance, Production Planning Manager, Procurement and Stores Managers, and General Manager CAMG

Performance Measures

The role is measured against aircraft availability, maintenance turnaround time, compliance rate, first-time fix rate, defect rate, maintenance cost per flight hour, safety incidents, employee productivity, training compliance, customer satisfaction, preventive-to-corrective maintenance ratio, parts availability and turnaround, and aircraft status reporting.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualified in Engineering, Aviation or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in the aircraft maintenance industry
  • CASA PNG licence with type ratings for aircraft operated
  • Technical competency on ATR and/or DHC-8 aircraft, together with managerial experience
  • Working knowledge of the MOE and CASA Part 145 requirements
  • Completed training in human factors
  • Extensive experience in engineering positions is essential
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills

The Package

  • AUD 135,000 – 140,000 base annual salary, gross
  • Three-year residential contract based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea
  • Accommodation provided
  • Annual return travel provided
  • Work permit and visa sponsored by the employer
  • Start date: as soon as the successful candidate is available

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
