Help shape how the world connects from the sky
Satellites in low Earth orbit. Platforms floating in the stratosphere. Wireless systems that don't exist yet.
We're expanding our satellite and cellular heritage into the next generation of communications, and we need an RF leader to help drive it. You'll spot where technology and market opportunity meet, work alongside our business developers to turn that insight into real client programmes, and inspire a team of brilliant engineers to deliver breakthroughs that matter.
If you've ever thought "I'd love to work on something genuinely new, rather than a tweak to last year's design," this is that role.
Why you'll love it here
Variety you won't find in-house. Our clients span wireless, telecoms, audio and semiconductors, from household names to early-stage start-ups. Some want their existing technology pushed further. Others arrive with a bold idea and no idea how to build it. You'll see both, often in the same month.
Space to explore. We encourage you to stay ahead of the technology and the market, and to propose and investigate novel ideas that could become tomorrow's products for our clients.
People who care. You won't be solving hard problems alone. Our culture is friendly, supportive and driven by a shared love of tough technical challenges.
The kind of work we do
- The world's largest airborne phased-array antenna system
- High-bandwidth internet connectivity for US business air travel
- Transparent antennas for 5G radio systems
- The world's highest-density 4G radio system, built for a fleet of warehouse robots
What you'll do
- Partner with business developers to understand market trends and client needs
- Lead the creation of ground-breaking wireless products, from first client conversation and problem definition, through specification, to successful delivery
- Inspire and mentor engineers across the team to push their own ideas further
- Keep us at the leading edge of RF and wireless technology
What you'll bring
You're a confident communicator with a track record of leadership and innovation in RF systems and wireless communication, and you get genuinely excited about what new technology could do for clients.
You don't need to tick every box. We're looking for some of the following:
- Hands-on experience specifying and designing RF systems and products
- Knowledge of 3GPP standards
- Antenna specification and design
- Understanding of DSP and its applications in RF
- A real curiosity for new technologies
- Enthusiasm for mentoring junior engineers
Come from a different corner of RF, such as satellite, cellular, defence or semiconductors? We'd still love to hear from you.
