The posting

The Programme Director is accountable for the successful delivery, governance and strategic leadership of the Education Network Northern Ireland (ENNI) programme. The role ensures contractual commitments, transformation initiatives, service improvements and customer outcomes are delivered safely, effectively and in line with agreed timelines, quality standards and budget.

Job title:

Programme Director

Job Description:

This role is based in Northern Ireland. The role is predominantly home-based but should you need to go into the office, you’ll attend our Antrim location.

We’re truly committed to building a diverse and representative workforce and as part of our strategic plans we are aiming to accelerate gender and ethnic representation in leadership. As such we would particularly welcome applications from people who are female and/or are from Black, Asian and other ethnic minority backgrounds

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of the ENNI programme and associated projects.
  • Maintain the integrated programme roadmap, plan, dependencies and delivery strategy.
  • Provide leadership to project managers, PMO resources and multidisciplinary delivery teams.
  • Own programme governance, reporting, assurance, RAID, change control and escalation.
  • Lead recovery planning where delivery, timelines or customer commitments are at risk.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior Education Authority, partner and Capita stakeholders.
  • Maintain oversight of budgets, forecasts, commercial performance and contractual obligations.
  • Drive a culture of professionalism, ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement.

What we’re looking for

Essential

  • Significant experience leading large-scale managed services, technology transformation or complex change programmes.
  • Demonstrable delivery success within regulated, public sector or similarly complex environments.
  • Strong programme governance, risk, financial and commercial management capability.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing third-party suppliers.
  • Credible executive-level communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to turn complex delivery challenges into clear decisions, recovery actions and measurable outcomes.

Desirable

  • Experience within education, government or large outsourced service environments.
  • MSP Practitioner, PRINCE2 Practitioner, Agile, PMP or equivalent programme management qualification.
  • Experience of major transition, transformation, service modernisation or customer recovery.

About ENNI

ENNI is the core education technology managed service currently delivered by Capita for the Education Authority in Northern Ireland. The service supports schools and the wider education technology environment while the account also manages substantial change, lifecycle, commercial, governance and transition activity.

What’s in it for you?

  • Competitive salary, dependent on experience, plus bonus.
  • 23 days’ holiday (rising to 27) with the opportunity to buy extra leave
  • The opportunity to take a paid day out of the office, volunteering for our charity partners or a cause of your choice
  • Auto-enrolment to our company pension, life assurance, a cycle2work scheme, 15 weeks’ fully paid maternity, adoption and shared parental leave, paternity pay of two weeks and plenty more
  • Voluntary benefits designed to suit your lifestyle – from discounts on retail and socialising, to health & wellbeing, travel and technology
  • Access to our Employee Network Groups, which represent every strand of diversity and allow colleagues to connect and learn from each other on an open, inclusive platform

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?
