The posting

Capricor Therapeutics (NASDAQ: CAPR) is a biotechnology company dedicated to advancing transformative cell and exosome-based therapies for rare diseases. At the forefront of our innovation is Deramiocel (CAP-1002), our lead cell therapy in late-stage development for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. We are also harnessing our proprietary StealthX™ exosome platform to unlock new possibilities in targeted delivery and vaccinology. Every program reflects our commitment to pushing the boundaries of science and delivering life-changing treatments to patients and families who need them most.

The Senior Director, Head of Commercial Operations will build and lead the commercial operations and analytics capabilities required to support Capricor's anticipated U.S. launch of deramiocel, its lead cell therapy for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. This leader will establish the operational backbone of the commercial organization, including commercial data and analytics, forecasting, field operations, customer relationship management, territory design, incentive compensation, performance reporting, and commercial systems.

This is a hands-on launch leadership role with end-to-end accountability for translating commercial strategy into scalable processes, actionable insights, and disciplined execution. The position will partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Patient Services, Finance, Medical Affairs, IT, Legal, and Compliance, as well as external data, analytics, and technology partners, to establish launch-ready capabilities and evolve them as the business grows.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the commercial operations strategy, implementation roadmap, and launch-readiness plan, with clear milestones, dependencies, risks, and accountabilities.
  • Design scalable operating processes, governance, and decision-support capabilities for the pre-launch, launch, and post-launch phases.
  • Translate commercial priorities into practical workflows, systems requirements, reporting solutions, and performance measures.
  • Provide executive leadership with concise updates, business insights, recommendations, and timely escalation of launch-critical risks.
  • Build and oversee Capricor's commercial data ecosystem, including data acquisition, integration, storage, reporting, and business intelligence capabilities, in partnership with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Define the commercial data architecture and integration strategy across specialty pharmacy, distributor, hub, patient services, claims, customer, and other relevant data sources.
  • Develop dashboards, scorecards, and analytical frameworks that support launch readiness, business reviews, field execution, patient access visibility, and commercial decision-making.
  • Establish analytical standards and convert complex data into clear, timely, and actionable insights for commercial leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Implement and manage the customer relationship management (CRM) platform, including configuration, data standards, targeting, segmentation, call planning, activity reporting, and field dashboards.
  • Lead field force sizing, territory design and alignment, roster management, quota setting, and incentive compensation design and administration in partnership with Sales leadership, Human Resources, Finance, Legal, and Compliance.
  • Build field-effectiveness reporting and business review processes that help leaders identify opportunities, address execution gaps, and allocate resources effectively.
  • Support the operational components of field onboarding, training, communications, and launch execution.
  • Establish commercial data governance, master data management, data quality, access control, and documentation standards in partnership with IT, Legal, Privacy, and Compliance.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, business rules, and controls governing the acquisition, integration, reporting, and appropriate use of patient-level and commercial data.
  • Ensure commercial systems and reporting processes are reliable, scalable, appropriately validated, and aligned with applicable privacy, security, legal, and compliance requirements.
  • Lead issue resolution, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement across the commercial data and technology environment.
  • Lead vendor selection, RFPs, contracting, implementation, budget management, service-level agreements, and ongoing business reviews in partnership with Procurement, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and IT.
  • Hold data, analytics, and technology vendors accountable for quality, timeliness, business continuity, and measurable performance.
  • Build and lead a high-performing commercial operations team as organizational needs evolve, including workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, coaching, development, and performance management.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, analytical rigor, and disciplined execution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the scope and seniority of the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in commercial operations, sales operations, analytics, forecasting, or a related function within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry, including meaningful leadership responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting a product launch, preferably in rare disease, specialty medicine, cell therapy, gene therapy, or another complex treatment environment.
  • Deep expertise in commercial analytics, forecasting, data integration, performance measurement, and field operations.
  • Hands-on experience acquiring and integrating commercial data and managing vendor-supported data ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated experience designing or implementing commercial data warehouses, master data management, business intelligence, and reporting capabilities.
  • Working knowledge of pharmaceutical data sources, including specialty pharmacy, distributor, hub, patient services, claims, customer, and patient-level data, as well as applicable privacy and data-use requirements.
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) platforms, field targeting and alignment, incentive compensation, and launch readiness reporting.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership, vendor management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to translate strategy into detailed execution.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and executive communication skills, with strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in analytics, data science, engineering, business, finance, or a related discipline.
  • Experience establishing commercial operations and analytics capabilities in a pre-commercial or early-commercial biotechnology company.
  • Cell therapy, gene therapy, rare disease, or advanced-therapy commercial operations experience.
  • Experience with Veeva CRM, Salesforce, Power BI, Tableau, Snowflake, Databricks, or comparable commercial data and analytics platforms.
  • Familiarity with hub and patient services data integration and treatment center-based commercial models.

Core Competencies

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Vendor management and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly scaling environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and documentation discipline.
  • Ability to influence without authority and collaborate effectively across functions.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
