Profile Updated: 9/28/2026 Position Details: Title: IT Quality Specialist Department: Information Technology Reports to: Supervisor, IT Quality Location: Rugged Tech Job Classification: Remote FLSA Status: Exempt Job Band: Professional Job Summary The Quality Assurance Specialist is a member of the Delivery COE team responsible for developing and executing test cases, analyzing test results, supporting knowledge transfer to the automated testing team, and reporting testing outcomes for assigned features. The QA Specialist performs functional, system integration, release validation, defect verification, and regression testing across browsers, devices, systems, and environments supporting Carhartt’s eCommerce, SAP, and Retail applications. This role contributes to a collaborative, quality-focused culture by applying industry best practices to ensure reliable technology solutions that meet the needs of Carhartt associates and customers. Associate Responsibilities
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and test cases based on business requirements, functional specifications, and technical designs. Perform functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, usability, accessibility, smoke, and user acceptance testing activities across multiple applications and environments. Document, execute, and analyze test results to validate expected system behavior and business outcomes. Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution, ensuring issues are clearly communicated and reproducible. Investigate, log, and report application anomalies, defects, and performance issues with detailed supporting evidence. Validate fixes and perform retesting activities to confirm defect resolution and prevent regressions. Support the analysis, validation, and verification of defects identified through automated testing solutions or reported by business and IT stakeholders. Ensure adherence to established quality standards, programming best practices, web standards, and organizational testing methodologies. Validate application functionality, data accuracy, and data integrity across systems, interfaces, and test environments. Participate in requirements reviews, design reviews, walkthroughs, and inspections to improve software quality and test coverage. Collaborate with automation teams by supporting automated test creation, maintenance, and execution activities. Work closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, and project teams to clarify requirements and resolve quality-related issues. Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in information technology discipline or equivalent work experience
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience designing and executing system release and regression test plans and test cases inclusive of:
2 years of hands-on Quality Assurance experience testing eCommerce websites, Sales and Service, CRM and mobile applications. 1 year of experience developing and executing integration test plans and test cases. 1 year of experience in test automation, including creating automated test cases or collaborating with automation testing teams (preferred).
Solid ability to perform cross-browser testing and identify layout, usability, and compatibility issues across supported platforms and devices. Ability to create detailed test artifacts, including test plans, test cases, test data, test scripts, and test reports based on business requirements and user stories. Solid analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify, document, and track defects. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining organization, accuracy, and quality. Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Solid working knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies. Solid knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and quality assurance best practices. Solid organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with a commitment to collaboration, follow-up, and responsiveness. Ability to meet deadlines and perform effectively under pressure while maintaining quality standards. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Exposure to eCommerce, retail systems, and SAP applications is preferred. Ability to collaborate with developers, business stakeholders, and end users to support successful testing outcomes. Solid experience using test management and defect tracking tools such as Azure DevOps or similar platforms. Ability to communicate effectively with end users to identify, document, and help resolve defects.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Normal office environment. Extended periods of time sitting, standing, typing on a computer is required. This position has a Remote location: Associate will have no regular requirement to be on-site. Travel on-site is limited to special events. Carhartt is a tobacco free workplace.
