The posting

Company Description

Carousell Group is the leading multi-category platform for secondhand in Greater Southeast Asia on a mission to inspire the world to start selling, and to make secondhand the first choice. Founded in August 2012 in Singapore, the Group has a leading presence in seven markets under the brands Carousell, Cho Tot, Laku6, Mudah.my, OneShift, Ox Luxe, Ox Street, and Refash, serving tens of millions of monthly active users. Carousell is backed by leading investors including Telenor Group, Rakuten Ventures, Naver, STIC Investments and Sequoia Capital India.

As a team of passionate individuals working together to solve meaningful problems, there is so much more for you to discover in a career with Carousell. Our culture is made up of hiring, developing, and promoting people who embody our values of HEART, which is an acronym for Humility, Empathy, Accountability, Relentlessly resourceful and Teamwork. Together as an organisation, we make magic happen.

Job Description

About the role

Carousell's omnichannel Luxury Recommerce business gives pre-owned luxury a second life: authenticated, priced fairly, and sold to buyers who would not otherwise touch the secondhand market. The category works in Singapore with our Carousell Luxury and Luxlexicon stores, and through dedicated online channels in Hong Kong and Malaysia.

This is a builder's role, not a planning role.

What you will own

1. Own the online channel as a store

  • Treat the Carousell Luxury online channel (web/Shopify) as its own P&L and storefront, not an afterthought alongside retail.
  • Fix landed-cost pricing: diagnose and correct the tax- and shipping-inclusive pricing that is currently pricing Carousell out of Hong Kong, Malaysia and Taiwan, and build the promotions and markdown strategy that keeps the channel competitive.
  • Own the online conversion funnel end to end — from traffic and listing quality through checkout — and the overall website experience.

2. Go-to-market for online

  • Own GTM online forHong Kong, Malaysia and Taiwan, with a view to the channel's expansion into new markets as it scales.
  • Partner with marketing to drive promotions and campaigns for the online channel.
  • Partner with the team on social campaign planning that supports the online channel specifically.

3. Make the numbers visible

  • Set the metrics for the online channel — pricing, conversion, funnel performance — and build the reporting. Weekly, not quarterly.
  • Bring a point of view on what's broken and a plan to fix it.

Qualifications

What we are looking for

We care more about how you operate than where you have worked.

  • Strategic thinking. You can take an ambiguous question, build a defensible point of view from first principles and available data, and explain it simply to a founder, a partner, or a new hire. You know the difference between a strategy and a list of activities.
  • Relentlessly resourceful. You find a way. Small budget, no dedicated team, no precedent, none of these stop you. You get to answers by digging into the data, talking to people, and testing cheaply before asking for headcount.
  • Proactive. You set the agenda rather than wait for one. You surface the problem before it lands on someone else's desk, and you bring the recommendation with it.
  • You make things happen. Bias to shipping. You would rather ship a fix to the website next week than perfect the plan for a quarter. You close loops and you own outcomes, including the ones that go badly.
  • You get outperformance without a large team under you. You know how to get results by partnering with marketing and operations, not by hiring your way there.
  • You work across stakeholders and lead through influence. You build the relationships early, align people on a shared goal, and land the outcome through trust and persuasion rather than escalation.
  • Fluent with AI tools. You already use AI daily to do the work of a bigger team: market research, competitor teardowns, modelling, drafting, and analysis. You stay curious about what is newly possible and you raise the bar for how the team works, not just your own output.

Experience that tends to fit

  • 5 to 10 years in ecommerce, growth, or online channel ownership, ideally including real P&L or conversion-funnel accountability, not only advisory exposure.
  • Hands-on experience with pricing strategy, promotions and markdown — you have diagnosed a pricing problem and fixed it, not just reported on it.
  • Comfortable owning a website or storefront experience (Shopify or equivalent) and the conversion funnel behind it.
  • Depth in ecommerce, marketplaces, or luxury and fashion. Recommerce or resale experience is a strong plus but not a requirement.
  • Experience working cross-border (Hong Kong, Malaysia, or wider Southeast Asia) is a plus, not a requirement — the channel will expand into new markets over time.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
