The posting

Role Purpose:

We build technology that protects temperature-sensitive goods as they move through the global supply chain. We are looking for a Digital Product Design Researcher who can move fluidly from user insight to product execution, making complex, high-stakes operational workflows legible and turning regulated, jargon-heavy reality into intuitive, testable product experiences. The right candidate will study real-world temperature-sensitive supply chain environments, observe how users work and make decisions, and translate those insights into user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and design recommendations that improve customer outcomes.

Working with stakeholders, product owners, and designers, this role will uncover behavioral insights across audiences and ensure our digital products reflect users’ lived experiences. The work spans innovation, digital, and design initiatives critical to Carrier’s growth, from new opportunities to designs in varying stages of development.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Plan and help lead qualitative and quantitative research in operational environments, including contextual inquiry, field studies, interviews, usability testing, surveys, ride-along, and diary studies with frontline and expert users
  • Understand complex business dynamics and clarify ambiguous problems
  • Translate research insights into actionable recommendations that guide product decisions, improve existing products and services and inspire innovation priorities
  • Communicate research findings and implications to internal teams and partners with clarity
  • Design user-centered components and experience patterns that align with established design systems and accessibility standards.
  • Partner closely with stakeholders, product owners, developers, and designers to ensure research-backed designs balance user needs, business priorities, and implementation constraints
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the Carrier Digital’s Design Research craft

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in design, or human-computer interaction (HCI)
  • 5+ years of experience contributing to and delivering digital products across web and mobile platforms, including collaboration with designers, developers, and product managers.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Life sciences, cold chain, pharmaceutical logistics, or temperature-controlled supply chain experience
  • Experience at an enterprise healthcare, med device, or health IT company, or in a design consultancy with repeated engagements in pharma, med device, or supply chain
  • Deep understanding of the full, iterative design process – including research journey mapping, content design, wireframing, prototyping, testing and high-fidelity execution
  • Working knowledge of modern design, research, and AI tools, such as Figma, Claude, and Maze
  • Portfolio displaying work samples, research process, customer insights, and examples of artifacts generated from research (i.e. Personas, Guiding Principles, Journey Maps, design concepts, etc.)
  • Background designing for fulfillment, transportation, logistics visibility, alerts, dashboards, exception management, or other operational workflows
  • Passion for IoT software, hardware, connected devices, and data processing

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
