The Talent Development Specialist leads leadership development, manager development, career development, mentorship, HiPo development, and succession development support for CBX Solutions. This role builds programs, tools, and learning experiences that strengthen leadership capability, improve associate development, and support long-term organizational readiness.The Talent Development Specialist partners with HR, field leadership, executive leadership, and the Talent Development team to identify development needs, design practical development solutions, and help associates and leaders grow in alignment with business priorities. Essential Functions
Lead the planning, coordination, delivery, and continuous improvement of leadership and talent development programs. Build and manage development programs for leaders, managers, supervisors, emerging leaders, HiPo employees, mentors, and mentees. Support succession development efforts by creating tools, resources, learning experiences, and development plans aligned to future business needs. Partner with HR, Talent Strategy, Operations, Sales, and field leadership to identify leadership and talent capability gaps. Develop and support career development resources, career path tools, development planning guides, coaching resources, and leadership learning paths. Lead the mentorship program in partnership with HR and business leaders. Facilitate leadership development classes, workshops, virtual sessions, and cohort-based development programs. Partner with the Manager, Learning Experience Strategy to design and produce high-quality leadership and talent development materials. Partner with the Manager, Corporate Training when technical or operational training connects to career growth, leadership readiness, or role development and provide facilitation support where needed. Support manager capability in coaching, feedback, communication, accountability, employee engagement, change leadership, and team development. Gather feedback, measure program effectiveness, and recommend improvements to development programs. Maintain awareness of leadership development practices, adult learning principles, and business priorities. Support CBX University by building and maintaining leadership and career development learning paths. Prepare program updates, reports, summaries, and recommendations for the Senior Director, Talent Development. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, Education, Instructional Design, Leadership, Psychology, or related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in talent development, leadership development, learning and development, HR, organizational development, training, or related field. Experience facilitating leadership or professional development programs. Experience supporting managers, leaders, or employee development initiatives. Prior supervisory or program leadership experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong understanding of leadership development, manager development, coaching, mentoring, and career development practices. Strong facilitation and presentation skills. Strong communication, consulting, and interpersonal skills. Ability to build trust and credibility with leaders at multiple levels. Ability to translate business needs into practical development solutions. Strong project management and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple programs and priorities. Ability to work collaboratively with HR, field leaders, executives, and subject matter experts. Knowledge of adult learning principles and leadership development methodologies. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and learning systems. Experience with tools such as DiSC (preferably Wiley DiSC), Culture Index, emotional intelligence, coaching models, or similar development frameworks preferred. Ability to travel as business needs require.
Physical Demands This position is primarily sedentary. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, see, stand, walk, and use hands and arms. The role may require travel and standing for extended periods while facilitating training.
