This position plays an important role in connecting the library with the community and ensuring the branch is welcoming, safe, and an engaging place for everyone.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the branch, including staffing, scheduling, workflow, and service coverage.

  • Provide exceptional customer service and assist patrons of all ages with circulation, reference, technology, library resources, databases, computers, and other information needs.
  • Respond to patron questions and concerns, provide guidance and technical assistance, and resolve customer service issues with professionalism and empathy.
  • Coordinate and promote branch programs, events, and services for children, teens, adults, and the broader community.
  • Build positive relationships with community members, organizations, and local leaders and seek opportunities to promote library services and resources.
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, welcoming, and well-functioning branch. Monitor facility needs and report concerns related to safety, security, maintenance, or equipment.
  • Follow established procedures for emergencies, including monitoring severe weather information and responding appropriately to weather-related situations.
  • Support routine branch operations, including circulation, processing and shelving materials, shelf reading, deliveries, holds, patron accounts, supplies, correspondence, and daily cash transactions.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of library services, policies, procedures, and process improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, increase efficiency, and enhance the overall patron experience.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation and participate in special projects, committees, and professional development activities.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance, with flexibility to work additional hours as needed.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
