The posting

The Facility Maintenance Manager keeps every building and amenity at Seven Canyons safe, clean, and member-ready. This is a hands-on role in a small, high-touch private club: the manager leads a four-person team and still turns a wrench, walks the property daily, and steps in wherever the work is.

Facilities covered

  • Clubhouse: restaurant and kitchen, bar, fitness center, men's and women's locker rooms, offices, and member lounges
  • Common areas: entry, walkways, patios, landscape lighting, parking, and exterior building envelope
  • Pool: pool and spa, deck, equipment room, and furnishings
  • Golf maintenance building: structure, shop areas, restrooms, break room, and building systems (turf equipment itself stays with the golf course maintenance team)

Key responsibilities

Maintenance and repairs

  • Build and run a preventive maintenance program for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, lighting, doors, and life-safety systems across all buildings
  • Diagnose and complete routine repairs personally; schedule and assign work orders to the maintenance engineers
  • Maintain kitchen and restaurant equipment (refrigeration, ice machines, dish machine, hoods) in partnership with the Executive Chef, and coordinate service calls
  • Keep fitness equipment safe and in working order
  • Respond to after-hours emergencies as the on-call lead Pool and spa
  • Oversee daily water chemistry testing, logs, and equipment checks to meet Arizona and Yavapai County health code
  • Manage seasonal opening, closing, and filter/pump maintenance
  • Keep the pool deck, furniture, and umbrellas clean and in good repair

Housekeeping

  • Set cleaning standards and checklists for the clubhouse, locker rooms, fitness center, and restrooms
  • Schedule housekeeping around member activity, events, and restaurant service
  • Inspect areas daily and correct gaps; order and control cleaning supplies, linens, and amenities.

Safety and compliance

  • Keep fire alarm, sprinkler, extinguisher, backflow, and elevator (if applicable) inspections current
  • Maintain SDS, lockout/tagout, and OSHA-required training and records
  • Lead monthly safety walks and correct hazards promptly

Vendors, budget, and projects

  • Hire, schedule, and supervise contractors (HVAC, pest control, fire systems, pool service, janitorial specialists)
  • Prepare the annual facilities and housekeeping operating budget; track spending against it
  • Recommend and manage capital projects and replacements with the COO
  • Maintain an asset inventory and work order history

Member experience

  • Walk the property daily with a member's eye: lighting out, stains, odors, worn finishes
  • Support events with setup needs and quick turnarounds, coordinating with the event coordinator and Food & Beverage

Supervisory responsibilities

The manager directly supervises two Maintenance Engineers and two Housekeepers.

  • Hire, onboard, and train new team members, including cross-training so coverage holds during time off
  • Build weekly schedules that cover early mornings, weekends, and event days
  • Assign and follow up on work orders and cleaning checklists
  • Give regular coaching, complete performance reviews, and handle discipline with HR
  • Approve timecards and manage overtime within budget

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of building maintenance experience, including 2+ years supervising staff
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and commercial kitchen equipment
  • Certified Pool/Spa Operator (CPO) or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred

  • Experience in a private club, resort, or luxury hospitality setting
  • Trade license or certification (EPA 608, HVAC, electrical, or plumbing)
  • Experience with a work order or CMMS system
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

Skills and competencies

  • Hands-on troubleshooter who can fix it, not just call someone
  • Organized planner who keeps preventive maintenance ahead of breakdowns
  • Steady leader of a small team; leads by example
  • Service-minded and discreet around members and guests
  • Clear communicator with chefs, event staff, vendors, and leadership
  • Comfortable with budgets, purchase orders, and basic computer tools (email, spreadsheets, work order software)

Physical demands and schedule

  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs; climb ladders; work on roofs and in tight mechanical spaces
  • Stand and walk for most of the shift; work outdoors in Sedona's summer heat and winter cold
  • Handle pool chemicals and cleaning products safely with proper PPE
  • Schedule follows club operations, including early mornings, weekends, holidays, and events
  • On-call for after-hours facility emergencies

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
