Position Summary:
The Dining Custodian provides a safe and clean environment for students, staff, and the University community by conducting cleaning duties in the kitchen and service facilities while offering exemplary customer service.

Essential Job Duties:
- Cleaning and sanitizing foodservice equipment, preparation tables, walls, sinks, drains, vents, trash and compost receptacles, ceilings, floors, mirrors, vanities, toilets, windows, appliances, and furnishings.
- Maintain foodservice kitchen environments clean and safe using green practices, such as environmentally safe chemicals, water conservation, recycling when cleaning, and conserving energy by turning off lights.
- Cleans the outside of building including dock areas, picking up trash, sweeping, removing grease, washing, and snow/ice removal.
- Performs minor maintenance, including, but not limited to replacing lightbulbs, minor painting, corner guard replacement, and drain cleaning.
- Attend assigned and voluntary CSU, HDS, and department training sessions to continue improving knowledge and skills.
Conditions of Employment:
- Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires).
- Pre-employment Physical: Successfully complete the WorkSTEPS evaluation.
- Essential Services Designation - Required to report without delay or interruption to provide essential or emergency services to ensure health, safety, and welfare.
- Shift Work This position may be required to work extended shift hours and/or a modified swing shift to meet departmental staffing requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Years of Experience and/or Skills:
- Six months of experience in a position that performs custodial duties.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year or more experience in a position performing custodial duties.
- Six months or more experience in a foodservice or retail operation(s).
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple activities and tasks with competing priorities.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and verbal communication skills necessary for building and maintaining successful work relationships.
- Exemplary customer service skills.

Salary Range
$37,920 - $41,712
