Position Summary

This position supports student-centered storytelling across LSC social media and digital channels, with a focus on highlighting student voices, experiences, and events. The role is in-person and involves active content capture across the building. Standard hours are Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., with occasional evening or event-based coverage.

Description of Work Unit:

Lory Student Center (LSC) is a student-centered organization at the heart of campus, serving nearly 15,000 visitors daily. LSC Marketing leads communications for the building and its partners. Retail partners include the CSU Bookstore, LSC Dining, LSC Event Planning Office, and the RamCard office. Programming/Engagement partners include SLiCE, Campus Activities, Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, and Adult Learner & Veterans Services.

LSC Marketing is a team of career and student staff who provide full-service marketing support, including digital signage, print materials, web content, and social media.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Execute the established social media strategy for LSC’s primary Instagram account (@csulsc) by maintaining the content calendar, creating and scheduling posts, routing content for approvals, and ensuring a consistent posting cadence while making day-to-day decisions on content format and timing within established guidelines.
  • Create student-centered content that highlights student experiences, involvement, and community by capturing, editing, and publishing photo and video content throughout the building, including live event coverage, and engaging with student employees and visitors.
  • Coordinate with campus partners to gather information and collaborate with LSC Marketing student staff to ensure alignment and consistency across content.
  • Manage content scheduling in Loomly, follow the established review and approval process, monitor performance metrics, and apply insights to improve future content.
  • Support the LSC website and digital screen platforms while demonstrating reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. in posting timely content.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 years of professional experience or a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, or related field
  • Experience managing a social media account, especially Instagram
  • Strong writing and editing skills using AP style
  • Experience with photography and Adobe Photoshop
  • Experience creating/editing video (Premiere, Adobe Express, After Effects, or similar)
  • Strong organization and ability to manage deadlines
  • Ability to follow established workflows and execute consistently
  • Comfortable engaging peers to capture authentic student content
  • Receptive to feedback and adaptable
  • Availability for up to 9 months during the 2026–2027 academic year

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with scheduling and analytics tools (e.g., Loomly, CoSchedule, HootSuite, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Asana, Airtable, or similar project management tools
  • Wordpress experience
  • Experience creating storyboards
  • Basic knowledge of social media metrics and performance
  • Experience with event or live content coverage
  • Interest in a marketing or communications career
  • Demonstrated writing and editing skills
  • Experience managing students or interns
