THE OPPORTUNITY
The China Sales Leader reports to the General Manager, APAC and is responsible for leading Chemelex’s commercial business in China with direct accountability for order growth, backlog quality, pipeline conversion, price realization, channel performance, and profitable revenue growth. This leader will define and execute the China commercial strategy with a strong emphasis on accelerating growth in priority verticals, strengthening margin performance, increasing win rates, and building deeper customer, distributor, EPC, OEM, and key account relationships. The China Sales Leader will work closely with regional and global cross-functional partners to align commercial priorities with manufacturing capability, localization roadmaps, project execution, and margin objectives, ensuring China delivers both near-term commercial performance and long-term strategic growth.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
Develop and execute the China commercial strategy to accelerate profitable growth, improve order intake, expand healthy backlog, and increase funnel conversion in priority verticals.
Lead all direct sales, business development, channel, EPC, OEM, and key account activity across China. Prioritize growth in Chemical, Data Center & Semiconductor, Offshore & Marine, Power Plant, and Coal Chemical segments, consistent with APAC growth priorities. Increase market penetration, strengthen customer intimacy, and expand strategic account relationships. Drive stronger engagement with key end users, EPCs, shipyards, system integrators, and distributors at the specification stage to improve conversion and reduce price-led competition. Improve commercial effectiveness through stronger Salesforce pipeline discipline, more accurate forecasting, sharper opportunity prioritization, pricing rigor, improved lead-to-win conversion, and clearer accountability by territory, channel, and vertical. Participate in key decision-making process as a member of Asia Pacific region management team. Build strong executive-level relationships with key customers, partners, distributors, EPCs, OEMs, and other stakeholders across China and selected cross-border APAC opportunities. Stay close to market trends, competitive moves, and customer requirements, translating market insight into profitable growth actions, vertical priorities, and localized commercial offerings. Identify and prioritize growth opportunities across key verticals, strategic accounts, channels, and geographies, with particular focus on must-win projects and specification-led opportunities. Lead, develop, and strengthen the China sales organization Build a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, ownership, collaboration, disciplined execution, and measurable commercial results. Partner closely with operations, supply chain, customer service, finance, HR, and global commercial leadership to align business priorities and execution. Ensure strong coordination between commercial strategy, operational capability, and localization execution so the China team can compete more effectively on speed, cost, and solution fit.
YOU HAVE:
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred. 10+ years of dynamic and energetic leadership of general management role, especially in Sales & Marketing. Hands-on leadership with proven business management skills. Proven track record and established experience managing China wide sales of products and/or services in the commercial construction and industrial MRO markets. Ability to manage forecasts and budgets with tight control procedures. Excellent English communication skills with the ability to proactively build professional relationships internally and externally, a team builder. Ability to make good and timely decisions and take the actions required to achieve desired results. Preferred: Service & Solution selling experience
