The posting

Are you active in a church or church-related organisation, and curious about how your experience could be applied in a new way?

At ChurchDesk – now also including Hagru – we are expanding in the Netherlands and are looking for a Church Advisor to join our team in Groningen.

We are looking for someone who understands church life and is passionate about helping it develop. Together, we support churches with digital tools that strengthen communication, organisation, and community life.

You may not see yourself as a traditional salesperson, but you are motivated by meaningful, consultative conversations with churches and by guiding them in adopting tools that support their work.

Does this sound like you?

You know church life from the inside — as staff, a volunteer, or in a church-related organisation. With us, that knowledge becomes the foundation for something new: you'll have conversations with churches about digital tools that make their day-to-day easier (communication, organisation, fundraising).

Yes, this involves sales. No, you don't need to be an experienced salesperson. We'll teach you how to sell in a consultative way — you bring the understanding of church life that can't be taught.

Your Role: Advisory and Outreach

As a Church Advisor, your main responsibility is to open doors to churches and local congregations that are not yet using Hagru or ChurchDesk products.

  • Reach out and lead conversations: You enjoy engaging with new people and are genuinely curious to understand their daily workflows, challenges, and long-term vision for their church.
  • Drive the process forward: You take ownership of expanding awareness and adoption of the products. You follow the full journey from first contact through to agreement and onboarding.
  • Create value through communication: You present ChurchDesk to church councils, staff, and volunteers, using your understanding of their daily reality to make digital tools relevant and meaningful.
  • Act as a trusted sparring partner: You use your understanding of church structures and decision-making processes to build long-term, trust-based relationships across the church landscape in the Netherlands.

What We are looking for

  • A foundation in church life: You have solid experience in a church or church-related organisation and understand the collaboration between clergy, councils, and volunteers.
  • A willingness to grow and learn: You are excited to take on a new challenge where you can make a real impact for churches while developing your own skills and career.
  • Outgoing and purpose-driven: You are open to change and motivated by reaching out to new people and presenting a digital platform you believe in.
  • Independence and drive: You work in a structured way and naturally take ownership of your tasks and results.
  • Strong communication skills: You communicate clearly and effectively. You are fluent in Dutch and have a good command of English.

What We Offer

  • A role in a growing company with a strong focus on personal and professional development — including access to a dedicated coach to support your ongoing growth.
  • A transparent and supportive feedback culture — we grow together, learn from one another, and communicate openly.
  • Unforgettable team experiences — from company events to sailing trips in Croatia, ski trips, and visits to our office in Berlin.
  • 30 days of vacation – because rest matters.
  • Fancy a change of scenery? Come visit us in Copenhagen, Berlin or Oslo! We’ll cover all your travel and expenses so you can work alongside the team and soak up the local vibe.

About ChurchDesk

At ChurchDesk, we believe that the church plays an important role in society. Our platform is used by thousands of congregations to organise their work, improve communication with members, reach more people, and unlock new ways of fundraising. Our customers are part of one of the largest and oldest institutions in the world: the Church. It is undergoing significant change to prepare for the future — and we are here to support that transformation. For churches across Europe, it is crucial to work more efficiently and stay connected to their members and communities.

ChurchDesk has been around for more than 15 years — evolving from a startup into an international company serving customers across Europe. And we’re just getting started!

We actively live our values in our daily work:

#challenge: We challenge ourselves — and our customers — to continuously improve. We work like a professional sports team: with ambition, discipline, and strong team spirit.

#dogoodbusiness: Doing good business is a marathon, not a sprint. It requires endurance, quality, and integrity — every single day.

#jointheride: The journey matters just as much as the destination. Be part of it, celebrate successes — and have fun! We value being together, especially in the office.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
