Summary:Come join the City of Lawrence’s Budget, Strategy, & Performance Office! Through smart budgeting, aligned strategies, effective project delivery, and continuous improvement, this office supports the organization in thinking boldly and delivering on our Strategic Plan. We are looking for an innovative, engaged employee to join our team that is excited about local government and creating a community where all enjoy life and feel at home.   Responsibilities: The Budget Analyst will have a variety of assignments and work closely with assigned departments to set budget priorities and assist in the preparation and administration of the annual budget for all assigned funds including the 5-year Capital Improvement Plan. Additional duties include monitoring and analyzing revenue and expenditure forecasts, supporting assigned departments with performance measures, and other city-wide projects. Qualifications:Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, finance, business or public administration or a related field. A Master’s degree in public administration or a related field preferred.Three years increasingly responsible experience in public administration, business administration or a related field. Self-motivation, hardworking and good oral and written communication skills are a must for the position.
