About the Company Civ Robotics is on a mission to automate repetitive tasks within the $3 trillion infrastructure construction industry. We’re dedicated to bridging the workforce gap and accelerating the development of essential infrastructure projects. At the core of our mission is our innovative technology in robotics and autonomous navigation.

With over 100 robots deployed and operating across construction sites worldwide, we pride ourselves in ushering in the next generation of construction layout tools for solar, civil, land surveying, road striping, and general contracting. Our technology is engineered from the ground up to make our customers’ projects more precise, simple, and efficient than ever before. Join us and become an integral member of our dynamic team, leading the charge in pioneering construction robotics innovation!

About the Role We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to own and continuously improve the testing and validation of our robotics products. You will test the complete system, including Android applications, robotics software, hardware integrations, cloud services, and autonomous workflows. The role combines hands-on testing with test automation and requires thinking beyond individual software features to validate how the entire robotic system behaves in real-world scenarios. You will work closely with robotics, software, hardware, product, and field teams to identify issues early, improve product reliability, and ensure every release is ready for deployment.

Key Responsibilities Develop and execute test plans and test cases for robotics products and applications. Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing. Build and maintain automated testing infrastructure and test workflows. Test Android applications used to operate and configure robotic systems. Validate complete workflows such as robot connection, mission loading, operation, stopping, reporting, and configuration. Run tests using HITL/simulation environments as well as physical robotic systems. Develop and maintain long-running reliability and endurance tests, including overnight and multi-hour operation. Perform exploratory and randomized testing to identify unexpected failures and edge cases. Validate new features and releases and ensure existing functionality is not affected. Reproduce, document, and track issues with clear steps, logs, and supporting data. Collaborate with engineering teams to investigate failures and verify fixes. Continuously improve testing processes, automation coverage, and release quality.

Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field. Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in software QA, test automation, system testing, or a related role.

Technical Skills Strong experience with software testing methodologies and test automation. Experience testing complex systems involving multiple software and hardware components. Experience developing automated tests using Python or similar scripting languages. Experience with Android application testing. Experience with API and integration testing. Comfortable working with Linux and command-line tools. Ability to analyze logs, system behavior, and failures across multiple components. Familiarity with Git, JIRA, and CI/CD pipelines. Strong understanding of regression testing, release validation, and defect management.

Soft Skills Strong problem-solving and debugging abilities. Exceptional attention to detail. Ability to think creatively about how systems can fail. Strong ownership mindset and commitment to product quality. Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Clear written and verbal communication.

Preferred Qualifications Experience testing robotics or autonomous systems. Familiarity with ROS/ROS2. Experience with simulation, SIL, or HITL testing. Experience testing systems combining mobile apps, cloud services, embedded software, sensors, and robotics. Experience building automated or agentic testing systems. Familiarity with long-duration, stress, reliability, and fault-injection testing. Experience with Docker and containerized environments. Experience working with hardware or robots in the field.

Why Join Us Work on cutting-edge robotics technology deployed on real construction sites. Own quality across the complete robotics stack, from applications and cloud services to autonomous machines. Join a tight-knit, multidisciplinary team with significant ownership and fast decision cycles. Help shape the testing infrastructure and quality processes of a rapidly growing robotics company.

Benefits & Perks Comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, vision) for you and your family. Competitive salary with growth potential. Equity options in a fast-growing robotics company.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
