Your role at Clorox:

The Senior Plant Engineer serves as a key technical and operational leader responsible for maximizing the reliability, performance, and long-term sustainability of the site's manufacturing assets, utilities, and infrastructure. This role drives plant-wide engineering strategy, asset management, capital project execution, equipment modernization, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and capacity. Leveraging deep technical expertise and strong cross-functional leadership, the Senior Plant Engineer partners closely with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, HSE&S, R&D, and Central Engineering teams to identify opportunities, solve complex operational challenges, and implement innovative solutions that strengthen plant performance, support business growth, and advance operational excellence.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the design, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of plant electrical distribution systems, including low- and medium-voltage infrastructure.
  • Maintain electrical system documentation, including single-line diagrams, arc-flash studies, load calculations, and protective device coordination while ensuring compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and corporate standards.
  • Manage electrical contractors and vendors, ensuring safe work execution, adherence to specifications, and successful project delivery.
  • Lead approximately 15 annual electrical and controls capital projects totaling ~$3.5M, including scope development, vendor selection, installation, commissioning, and asset lifecycle planning.
  • Serve as the plant subject matter expert for PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, VFDs, instrumentation, industrial control systems, and automation technologies.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance control logic, HMI interfaces, automation standards, and change-management procedures while supporting system upgrades and migrations.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical and process control issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve reliability, uptime, and product quality.
  • Own the architecture, reliability, cybersecurity, and performance of the plant OT network, partnering with IT on network segmentation, firewalls, VLANs, secure remote access, and ISA/IEC 62443 and NIST compliance.
  • Drive predictive and preventive maintenance strategies, electrical and controls standardization initiatives, energy-efficiency projects, and power-quality improvements aligned with the site's long-term EIC roadmap.
  • Provide technical leadership, training, and mentoring for maintenance, operations, engineering, EHS, and IT teams, fostering safe work practices and successful project execution.

What we look for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Controls, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing or industrial experience.
  • Hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, and industrial automation systems, preferably Allen-Bradley/Rockwell.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, controls, and automation systems, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Experience leading automation or electrical capital projects from planning through commissioning.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout (LOTO), arc-flash, and electrical safety standards.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with cross-functional teams.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
