The posting

Looking for work that makes a difference? At CloudFerro, we build technology used every day by leading European organisations in science and the space sector, including ESA, EUMETSAT, ECMWF, Mercator Ocean International, DLR and EGI.

Working closely with the Earth Observation sector, you’ll help make large volumes of data available for research and a better understanding of our planet. If you enjoy solving complex problems, working with modern technology and having a say in what you build, we’d love to meet you.

The role

You’ll develop and take ownership of managed services on our cloud platform, such as Database as a Service (DBaaS), Registry as a Service (RaaS) and MLOps services. Your work will span Kubernetes integration, APIs, documentation and the day-to-day evolution of the services. You’ll help shape how customers build and run applications on the platform as part of a growing team with plenty of room to develop.

What you’ll do

  • Develop components that power our PaaS services.
  • Design solutions for multi-tenant environments and large-scale systems.
  • Work with the Product Manager to turn business needs into practical technical solutions.
  • Build prototypes and proofs of concept for new ideas.
  • Improve existing code and implement new components.
  • Make technical decisions with security, scalability, reliability and maintainability in mind.
  • Maintain code quality through reviews, automated tests, refactoring and sound engineering practices.
  • Investigate complex issues across PaaS services, shared services and cloud infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams.
  • Create and maintain documentation and technical standards.

What you’ll bring

  • Strong Python skills and hands-on experience with at least one framework, such as FastAPI, Flask or Django.
  • Experience designing REST APIs, including CRUD operations, error handling, data validation and versioning.
  • Experience building data persistence layers with PostgreSQL and Redis, including data modelling and migrations.
  • Enough Kubernetes experience to deploy, configure and troubleshoot your own service independently.
  • Confidence using AI development tools, such as Claude Code or Copilot, as part of your everyday engineering workflow.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Go.
  • Familiarity with Linux and cloud environments.
  • Experience building distributed solutions for multi-tenant or large-scale systems.
  • Experience containerising applications with Docker and building CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of observability practices, including structured logging, metrics and distributed tracing.
  • Full-stack engineering experience.

Why join CloudFerro?

  • Work with purpose. Help develop a cloud platform supporting Europe’s space sector, climate research and scientific projects.
  • Join a team with room to shape things. Work in a newly formed, autonomous team backed by the resources and stability of an established organisation.
  • Use cloud-native technology in production. Work with Kubernetes, Knative, Cilium, Argo CD, Kubeflow and other open-source projects, with opportunities to contribute to them.
  • Have a real say. Take part in architectural and product decisions that shape the platform.
  • Make AI tools part of your workflow. We use tools such as Claude Code in our day-to-day engineering work.
  • Work with flexibility and stability. Enjoy autonomy in how you organise your work, clear ways of working and attractive compensation.
  • Take care of yourself. Benefit from private healthcare, a Multisport card and life insurance.
  • Keep learning. Take advantage of language classes.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
