The posting

Looking for a place where your work can make a real impact? At CloudFerro, we build technologies used every day by leading European organisations in science and the space sector, including ESA, EUMETSAT, ECMWF, Mercator Ocean International, DLR and EGI.

Working at the intersection of technology and Earth Observation, you will help enable advanced analysis and contribute to a better understanding of our planet. If you are passionate about modern technologies, large-scale data and solving complex engineering challenges in an environment where you can grow, influence decisions and see the impact of your work, CloudFerro could be the right place for you.

As part of our Enterprise Architecture team, you will help define architectural and engineering standards across the organisation while working directly with product teams on some of our most technically demanding projects — including satellite data processing solutions for ESA.

What you’ll be doing

  • Defining engineering standards: Establish architectural patterns and best practices across Observability, CI/CD, GitOps and Kubernetes.
  • Supporting engineering teams: Provide hands-on technical guidance and consulting to development teams tackling complex technology, performance and integration challenges.
  • Shaping scalable solutions: Contribute proactively to the design of highly available and scalable systems, taking both technical and business requirements into account.
  • Driving engineering quality: Promote clean coding practices in Python and Go, TDD, effective code reviews and the use of AI-powered tools to improve engineering workflows and productivity.

Tech stack & engineering standards

  • Core & Code: Python, Go (experience or willingness to learn), Linux.
  • Observability: Prometheus, Thanos / Prometheus Operator, ELK.
  • CI/CD & GitOps: Argo CD, Git, OpenTofu.
  • Data & Messaging: PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ.
  • Nice to have: NATS, Temporal, OpenBao.

What we’re looking for

  • At least 8 years of commercial software engineering experience, including building high-performance distributed systems and a strong understanding of the architectural challenges involved.
  • Strong proficiency in Python or Go, with a solid understanding of clean code principles and high engineering standards.
  • A good understanding of Kubernetes from an application perspective, including the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in Kubernetes environments.
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing standards for CI/CD, GitOps and Observability, particularly with Prometheus and Thanos.
  • The ability to share knowledge, lead constructive technical discussions and support other engineers in solving complex problems.
  • A university degree in Computer Science or a related field and good working proficiency in English.
  • Availability to work in a hybrid model, with at least 3 days per week from our Warsaw office.

What we offer

  • Real influence over the technology architecture and engineering standards across the entire company.
  • Complex engineering challenges at the heart of the European space and Earth Observation sector.
  • A high degree of autonomy and the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and domain experts.
  • An informal, friendly working environment in our office by the Vistula River in Warsaw.
  • Competitive compensation, stable employment and a comprehensive benefits package, including private healthcare, MultiSport, insurance and language classes.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.
