As a purpose-driven, certified B corporation, Clover is leading the way for conscious businesses by demonstrating care for all stakeholders and moving the world forward. We are committed to lowering our environmental impact and meeting our sustainability targets, by providing kids and adults with healthy, nutritious, and delicious products that are made with care for animals, people, and the planet.

About the Role

The IT Systems Administrator maintains secure, reliable technology across Clover Sonoma's corporate office, dairy bottling plant, and distribution warehouse in the Petaluma area. The role also supports technology used by route drivers.

This hands-on role manages daily system administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and recovery. The administrator works with Clover IT, the Alpina IT Transformation team, operations, engineering, and service providers to keep manufacturing, distribution, and office systems available.

A Day in the Life

- Administer Windows Server, VMware, storage, and AWS infrastructure; monitor system health, performance, and capacity, and resolve issues before they disrupt operations.

- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file permissions, and printing; administer user accounts, access, multifactor authentication, and collaboration services through onboarding, role changes, and offboarding.

- Manage backups, disaster recovery, failover, and business continuity; verify backup integrity, test recovery procedures, and document results and corrective actions with IT leadership and service providers.

- Install system, application, and firmware updates through approved change procedures, including maintenance scheduling, validation, and rollback planning.

- Maintain endpoint protection, secure configurations, vulnerability remediation, privileged access, and security logs; support cybersecurity incident containment and recovery.

- Monitor system availability, performance, storage utilization, and logs; investigate alerts, resolve issues, and escalate risks before they affect business operations.

- Administer Microsoft SQL Server and support infrastructure for ERP, web services, and other business applications in coordination with application owners and specialist providers.

- Resolve incidents and service requests affecting manufacturing, warehousing, shipping, route delivery, and office operations; document root causes and corrective actions, communicate progress, and confirm resolution with users.

- Maintain accurate system and network documentation, asset inventories, license and warranty records, and operating and recovery procedures.

- Use PowerShell or similar tools to automate routine tasks and improve consistency through documented, approved processes.

- Work with vendors on troubleshooting, repairs, replacements, upgrades, and migrations; participate in after-hours support and escalation as assigned.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education and relevant experience.

- Three or more years of hands-on systems administration or infrastructure support experience.

- Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file permissions, virtualization, and storage.

- Experience with backups, system restoration, disaster-recovery testing, identity and access, endpoint management, patching, and security controls.

- Ability to troubleshoot system and application-access issues, prioritize incidents, and follow problems through resolution.

- Ability to document work clearly, follow change procedures, and communicate with technical and nontechnical teams.

- Ability to work onsite, travel among Petaluma-area facilities, and provide scheduled or emergency after-hours support.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in food, beverage, consumer goods, manufacturing, distribution, or transportation, including support for plant-floor, warehouse, route-driver, mobile-device, or operational technology environments.

- Experience with AWS, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Microsoft SQL Server, SAN storage, Veeam, Carbonite, or comparable platforms.

- Familiarity with SAP infrastructure connectivity, Cisco Meraki, mobile-device management, IT service-management tools, and RingCentral or comparable voice platforms.

- Experience with PowerShell, automation, system upgrades, and infrastructure migrations.

- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.

- Relevant Microsoft, AWS, VMware, Cisco, CompTIA, ITIL, or comparable certifications.

Core Competencies

- Technical depth and practical judgment

- Security awareness and attention to detail

- Operational urgency and dependable follow-through

- Root-cause analysis and structured problem solving

- Cross-functional collaboration and clear communication

- Continuous improvement and disciplined change management

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This role operates primarily in an office environment and regularly supports systems used in active dairy manufacturing, warehouse, and distribution facilities. The employee may occasionally enter production, cold-storage, warehouse, loading, or yard areas and must follow all required safety, food-safety, sanitation, security, and personal protective equipment rules. The role requires regular use of a computer and may require work outside normal business hours to support critical incidents, maintenance windows, upgrades, or implementations. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

What You Bring to the Team

- Operationally accountable: Takes ownership of assigned systems and follows issues through diagnosis, communication, resolution, and prevention.

- Calm under pressure: Prioritizes effectively and communicates clearly during disruptions affecting manufacturing, distribution, or route delivery.

- Collaborative: Builds trusted working relationships across IT, operations, facilities, engineering, drivers, and external providers while maintaining strong service standards.

- Practical and improvement oriented: Balances urgency, security, and business impact while strengthening system reliability, documentation, and everyday operating practices.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
