The posting

About Coastal Waste & Recycling

At Coastal Waste & Recycling, we're building more than a company, we're building a team. As one of the fastest-growing privately held waste and recycling companies in the Southeast, we're looking for people who take pride in their work, put safety first, and are ready to grow with us.

Regional Human Resources Manager

Lead People. Partner with Operations. Make an Impact.

At Coastal Waste & Recycling, our people are at the heart of what we do. As we continue to grow, we're looking for experienced, hands-on HR leaders who understand that great HR doesn't happen behind a desk alone. It happens in our operations, alongside our leaders, and through meaningful relationships with the employees who keep our business moving.

We're hiring Regional Human Resources Managers to support our South Florida and Gulf Coast operations. These positions offer the opportunity to lead People Experience initiatives across multiple locations, influence operational decisions, and make a direct impact on employee engagement, retention, and workforce performance.

If you're an HR leader who enjoys solving problems, developing leaders, and building strong relationships with frontline teams, we'd love to hear from you!

What You'll Do

As a Regional HR Manager, you'll serve as a trusted business partner to the Market Area President and operational leadership team, helping drive the people strategies that support our business.

  • Partner with Operations: Work directly with Area Presidents, District Managers, and site leaders to address workforce challenges, improve employee performance, and support business goals.
  • Lead Employee Relations: Manage workplace investigations, employee concerns, conflict resolution, corrective actions, and performance management with fairness, consistency, and sound judgment.
  • Develop Your Team: Lead and coach HR Generalists, ensuring our field teams receive responsive, practical, and consistent HR support.
  • Drive Retention: Analyze turnover, employee engagement, and workforce trends to identify opportunities and implement meaningful improvements.
  • Strengthen the Employee Experience: Support effective onboarding, employee development, engagement initiatives, and consistent HR practices across operating locations.
  • Use Data to Drive Decisions: Translate workforce metrics into actionable insights and partner with operational leaders on improvement plans.
  • Champion Compliance: Ensure consistent application of employment laws, company policies, and HR processes while collaborating with Corporate People Experience.
  • Support Growth: Partner on workforce planning, organizational changes, acquisitions, and integration activities as Coastal continues to expand.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an HR leader who can balance strategy with execution. Someone who can confidently advise senior operational leaders, navigate complex employee relations matters, and connect with employees at every level of the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations, compliance, and HR business partnership.
  • At least 2 years of experience leading or supervising HR professionals.
  • Active SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification required.
  • Experience supporting multiple operating locations or geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong background in workplace investigations, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Working knowledge of federal and applicable state employment laws.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms and workforce reporting.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Experience in waste and recycling, transportation, logistics, construction, manufacturing, or other operationally driven industries.
  • Experience supporting large hourly or frontline employee populations.
  • Familiarity with Workday HCM.
  • Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, or growing organizations.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Creole communication skills.

What Makes This Opportunity Different?

You'll have a seat at the table. You'll work directly with the Market Area President and operational leadership, helping shape decisions that impact employees and business performance.

You'll be connected to the field. This isn't an HR position where you'll spend every day behind a desk. You'll build relationships with employees and leaders across multiple locations.

You'll have support. While you're leading HR within your market area, you'll also partner closely with our Corporate People Experience team for guidance, specialized resources, and enterprise initiatives.

You'll have an opportunity to build. Coastal is growing, and this position offers the opportunity to strengthen field HR support, improve processes, develop talent, and help shape how we support our workforce.

Position Details

  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, with flexibility based on operational needs
  • Work Environment: Primarily onsite and field-based
  • Travel: Approximately 20%, with additional travel depending on operational and site needs
  • Reporting Relationship: Reports directly to the Market Area President, with a dotted-line relationship to the Vice President of People Experience

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
