Role Description:
We’re looking for a Technical Product Owner to get the most value out of the internal developer platforms behind a global quick service restaurant brand’s digital operations. You’ll sit within the brand’s Solutions Architecture team. Your job is to turn what engineering teams need into a clear, prioritized backlog across CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, observability, developer tooling, and systems integration that supports restaurant-facing ordering systems.
This role suits someone who treats engineers as customers, likes working closely with platform, SRE, and DevOps teams, and wants to improve developer experience through self-service and automation. You’ll make sure platform capabilities get adopted, are easy to use, and match both business and engineering priorities.
What You'll Do:
- Contribute to the product roadmap for internal developer platforms, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, observability, and automation tooling.
- Own and manage the product backlog, translating engineering needs into clear epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria so work is consistently ready for development.
- Gather and represent feedback from engineering teams through interviews, surveys, office hours, and ongoing engagement.
- Partner closely with SRE, DevOps, and Solutions Architecture teams to balance product priorities with technical execution.
- Collaborate across brand product teams, platform engineering, and enterprise cloud and security teams to align on priorities and dependencies.
- Drive adoption of platform capabilities through customer-focused prioritization and clear communication of what’s being built, what isn’t, and why.
- Contribute to self-service and automation initiatives that cut manual support work and make developers more productive.
- Track and report product metrics such as adoption, user satisfaction, operational efficiency, and productivity, and use them to guide decisions.
- Support planning, intake, and capacity management for platform initiatives.
What You'll Bring:
- 3+ years of experience working on technical products for technical users such as engineers, developers, or IT teams, including 1–2+ years in product management or technical product ownership.
- Experience owning and managing a product backlog in an Agile environment.
- Experience with user research and requirements gathering, and with turning user needs into well-defined product deliverables.
- Familiarity with product metrics and with measuring adoption and outcomes.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE concepts. Experience with developer tools, internal platforms, or infrastructure products is a strong plus.
- A service mindset: you hold a high bar for your internal customers’ experience and earn trust through consistent delivery and clear communication.
- Ownership of outcomes, not just tasks. You define what success looks like and follow through.
- Bachelor’s degree in any field (technical degree preferred).
Nice to Have:
- Hands-on technical background or prior experience working closely with engineers.
- Exposure to automation, self-service platforms, or workflow tooling.
- Experience in a consumer-scale digital environment such as quick service restaurants, retail, or other high-transaction systems.
- Familiarity with restaurant technology or POS (point of sale) systems.
- Product management certifications or formal product training.
