Job Description

Orange & Rockland Utilities is seeking a highly motivated Analyst to join the Operations Performance and Support organization. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic operational environment and must possess strong analytical, organizational, and technology skills. This individual will work closely with the Field Operations Planners, Engineering, Operations, contractors, cost management and other business partners to support work planning, project coordination, operational reporting, and initiatives that enhance field operations performance. The Analyst will assist in the development and maintenance of reports, forecasts, and project tracking systems while supporting process improvements. We are looking for a candidate with a demonstrated ability to analyze data, solve operational challenges, manage multiple priorities, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that support safety, reliability, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of maintenance and capital construction work by assisting with workload forecasting, scheduling, resource planning, and operational priorities.
  • Monitor work management systems, work order status, completion metrics, and operational performance indicators to support efficient field operations.
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze operational reports, scorecards, and key performance metrics to support business decisions and operational excellence.
  • Coordinate with Field Operations Planners, Engineering, Operations, contractors, cost management and other business stakeholders to support project execution, reporting requirements, and various operational initiatives.
  • Track capital and maintenance project schedules, milestones, budgets, risks, action items, and performance metrics.
  • Analyze operational data, trends, and system performance to identify process improvements, efficiency gains, and opportunities to enhance reliability and customer service.
  • Prepare presentations, forecasts, executive summaries, management reports, and briefing materials for leadership reviews, operational meetings, and strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain departmental records, project documentation, compliance information, planning databases, and operational tracking tools to ensure accuracy and effective record management.
  • Support the implementation, testing, enhancement, and utilization of business systems, work management applications, and reporting tools.
  • Participate in operational assessments, field visits, and continuous improvement initiatives while assisting in the development and documentation of business processes, workflows, procedures, and reporting standards.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, participate in the Company's emergency management and storm response processes, and perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant work experience or
  • Associate's Degree and 4 years of relevant work experience or
  • High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of relevant work experience

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Math, Business or applicable degree and 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Associate's Degree preferably in Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Math, Business or applicable degree and 4 years of relevant work experience
  • High School Diploma/GED preferably in Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Math, Business or applicable degree and 5 years of relevant work experience

Relevant Work Experience

  • Experience supporting operations, planning, scheduling, project coordination, reporting, or business processes, required.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret operational data, preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook, required.
  • Experience developing reports, scorecards, or performance metrics, preferred.
  • Experience working with work management systems, project tracking tools, databases, or reporting platforms, preferred.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast-paced environment, required.
  • Ability to work effectively with Operations, Engineering, Construction, contractors, and other cross-functional stakeholders, required.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project coordination skills, required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, teamwork, customer service, and operational excellence, required.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Driver's License Required

Additional Physical Demands

  • The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
