Job Description

Con Edison, a multibillion-dollar energy utility, is leading the clean energy transition in New York City and Westchester County. We are investing hundreds of millions of dollars annually to integrate distributed resources into our electric and gas systems, support electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and scale adoption of energy efficiency and clean heating technologies across our customers.

The Clean Energy Data Product Owner will lead the Building Energy Usage Portal (BEUP), Con Edisons customer-facing data platform that provides aggregated building energy usage information to support benchmarking, Local Law compliance, customer energy insights, and future clean energy planning needs. This role requires a strong leader who can manage people, projects, vendors, administrative responsibilities, customer relationships, and governmental stakeholder needs while also understanding and managing software delivery, data quality, application operations, and regulatory obligations. The successful candidate will be able to organize ambiguous issues, drive resolution across teams, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences, and ensure BEUP remains reliable, accurate, customer-centered, and positioned for future modernization.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead BEUP as a customer-facing clean energy data platform by setting direction, priorities, operating expectations, modernization plans, and performance goals in alignment with business, regulatory, customer, and Digital Products objectives.
  • Manage BEUP employees and matrixed resources, including coaching, work assignment, prioritization, performance support, issue escalation, cross-training, vendor coordination, administrative routines, budgets, forecasts, and delivery risks.
  • Serve as the primary relationship owner for direct customer, governmental, municipal, regulatory, and external stakeholder interactions, including NYC agency coordination, Local Law and benchmarking inquiries, customer escalations, public-facing communications, and stakeholder issue resolution.
  • Translate customer, regulatory, operational, and business needs into clear requirements, decision documents, process flows, work plans, testing expectations, release materials, executive updates, regulatory inputs, and stakeholder communications.
  • Lead software, data, and operational delivery with IT, data engineering, Agile delivery teams, vendors, customer operations, and business partners from concept through release, adoption, production support, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee BEUP data quality, operating controls, metrics, issue resolution, and service performance, including consumption variances, estimate replacement, meter-to-property relationships, ESPM exchanges, source-system discrepancies, customer-reported issues, platform reliability, SLAs, adoption, and reporting accuracy.
  • Promote privacy, cybersecurity, data governance, documentation, risk management, and operational controls necessary to support a regulated, public-facing energy data platform.
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
