Als Senior Data Engineer bij BigData Republic adviseer je toonaangevende organisaties in Nederland over complexe data-vraagstukken. Je combineert hands-on engineering met een adviserende rol: je schrijft productie-klare code, denkt mee over strategische bedrijfsbeslissingen en begeleidt collega’s om naar een hoger niveau te groeien.

Je hebt je carrière opgebouwd rond het ontwerpen en bouwen van datasystemen. Je werkt graag inhoudelijk mee, maar verliest kwaliteit, schaalbaarheid en duurzaamheid nooit uit het oog. Je bent een ervaren Data Engineer die vaak moeilijk in één functie te vatten is, omdat je op meerdere niveaus impact maakt. En je bent toe aan een nieuwe uitdaging.

Bij BigData Republic ontwikkelen we data-applicaties, bouwen we data-platformen, creëren we voorspellende modellen en ontwerpen we robuuste data-infrastructuren. We werken vanuit een software-engineering mindset, met focus op technische hoogstaande kwaliteit.

Kennisdeling en thought leadership vormen de kern van onze cultuur. Elke vrijdag organiseren we kennissessies op kantoor, we schrijven blogs, organiseren meetups en bezoeken en spreken op conferenties.

Je werkt aan complexe projecten voor grote klanten in uiteenlopende sectoren, terwijl je onderdeel bent van een klein, informeel en hecht team van vakgenoten dat elkaar uitdaagt en inspireert. Bij BigData Republic ben je de expert in de kamer én leer je elke dag van je collega’s. En vooral: je kunt hier jezelf zijn.

In de praktijk besteed je ongeveer 90% van je tijd aan klantprojecten. De overige tijd is expliciet gereserveerd voor eigen initiatieven: een pet project, innovatie of een idee dat je samen met collega’s wilt uitwerken.

Je past goed bij deze rol als je ervaring hebt met (een deel van) onderstaande tooling en concepten:

Je hebt een sterke basis in;

  • Python
  • Cloud (AWS, GCP of Azure)
  • Data pipelines bouwen en ouderhouden (ELT/ ETL)
  • Data warehousing (Databricks, Snowflake of BigQuery)
  • Orchestratie (Airflow, Dagster)
  • Terraform, CI/ CD

Pluspunten, maar geen vereiste:

  • Streaming (Kafka, Spark, Flink)
  • DevOps (Kubernetes)
  • Data Governance en management (bijvoorbeeld dbt)
  • Ervaring met AI en of ML infrastructuur (feature stores, vector databases, ML pipelines)

Je hoeft niet alles te beheersen. Nieuwsgierigheid, leergierigheid en technische diepgang vinden we belangrijker dan een perfecte checklist.
