The posting

  • Deploy nationally significant mobile infrastructure projects that will shape connectivity across Aotearoa New Zealand
  • Bring your civil construction, telecommunications infrastructure and network experience to a high-growth TowerCo environment
  • Step into a role where your relationship development experience will be key to your success

Connexa is New Zealand’s leading mobile tower infrastructure company, driven by a mission to enable a more connected digital future for Aotearoa New Zealand. We do this by designing, building and managing mobile sites across the country for telecommunications providers (like Spark and 2degrees) to expand their coverage efficiently and sustainably. Our tower portfolio of 2,500 covers Cape Reinga to Bluff and is the largest in New Zealand.

Kiwis’ mobile data use has increased dramatically in recent years and demand for mobile services continues to grow. The Connexa team is focused on ensuring Aotearoa is keeping up with this increasing demand, both today and into the future, by building an additional 800 towers over the next eight years to support the required growth in coverage and capacity.

Working at Connexa will challenge you, broaden your horizons and give you the opportunity to make your mark on a totally new segment of New Zealand’s telecommunications industry

The Role:

As a Deployment Engineer you’ll be involved at the beginning of projects, scoping, planning and selecting viable locations along with building relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service companies to plan, design and deliver telecommunications infrastructure that meets customer technical specifications within budget and delivery timeframes.

Intimate knowledge of civil construction, telecommunications infrastructure and networks is required.

We’re building a great culture at Connexa together, and your role will play a key role in this.

Key Responsibilities:

  • · Prepare and interpret specifications, drawings, and regulations for the passive infrastructure build
  • · Working as part of a team on site selection and planning for new site builds
  • Produce ‘bill of materials’ for the project based on design requirements and providing a future forecast
  • Develop concept design, plan and track progress
  • Provide technical input into the design and delivery of the project
  • Working collaboratively with property, engineering, and delivery colleagues, supporting successful project delivery end to end
  • Liaise and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely and efficient build completion
  • Manage sub-contracting partners to improve delivery and business flexibility
  • Adhere to relevant NZ compliance standards and Connexa Workplace Health & Safety policies
  • Participate in technical information sharing forums to represent Connexa
  • Work with Project and Programme Managers to deliver agreed project outcomes, responding to priorities and work sequencing established through the delivery planning process.

Requirements

  • Passive infrastructure build experience
  • Telecommunications engineering experience (desirable but not essential)
  • Relevant tertiary qualification desirable
  • Excellent analytical skills and an eye for detail
  • Fantastic communication skills in all formats
  • A creative approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • A recognition and embrace of differences and diversity in the workplace
  • A growth mindset and desire for continuous improvement

Benefits

You will be rewarded with a competitive remuneration package, Health & Life Insurance, access to Marram Community Trust, WorkRide Plus and Public Transport savings. If you are ready to bring your expertise to a role with national impact, this is your opportunity to help build the infrastructure that keeps New Zealand connected.

You will join an ambitious team in a business that is growing fast, solving complex problems and creating tangible value for customers, communities and the wider telecommunications ecosystem.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
