The posting

About Constructor

Constructor is an international ecosystem spanning education, research, and technology. It includes Constructor University Bremen, Constructor Tech, Constructor Knowledge, and partner entities such as EBAC, working together to advance how knowledge is created, taught, and applied.

Constructor Labs is the research arm of Constructor Knowledge, based at Campus Ring 1 in Bremen, Germany. Our work is organized around three units: Knowledge Labs, Cyber Labs and Science Labs. We apply computing, software and robotics research to make scientists, teachers and students more effective, working with institutional partners that include CERN, NUS, Carnegie Mellon and Fraunhofer.

About the Role

The purpose of this role is to position Constructor Labs, the applied research and innovation centre of Constructor Group, and to generate demand for its services to universities and enterprises: audit and consultancy, talent development, educational product development, platform implementation and integration, and research services. The Marketing Manager is the single point of contact for all marketing discussions and decisions at Constructor Labs, owns the messaging, plan, budget and results, and works hands-on while orchestrating Constructor’s shared team.

Key Responsibilities

Positioning, Messaging & Market Insight

  • Own the positioning and messaging for each Constructor Labs service line, tailored to university leadership and to enterprise L&D, HR and R&D decision-makers.
  • Turn research and education offerings into clear value propositions and sales materials: presentations, one-pagers, website copy and case studies (e.g. JetBrains, Acronis).
  • Run market analysis of the higher-education, EdTech and research landscape: benchmark competitors and comparable providers, follow rankings, funding and policy trends, and identify new opportunities.
  • Keep messaging consistent across all channels and materials used by business development and leadership.

Success Metrics and KPIs: clear messaging per service line, sales materials in active use, market insights that inform priorities.

Account-Based Marketing & Demand Generation

  • Build and run account-based marketing programmes for priority university and enterprise accounts together with business development: account selection, research, tailored messaging and multi-channel plays.
  • Plan and execute campaigns that generate qualified leads and build the funnel from initial awareness through lead capture and handover to business development.
  • Work hands-on across channels (performance, website, LinkedIn and other social media, email) and test new ones to reach decision-makers at universities, research institutions and enterprises.
  • Use Salesforce independently as a marketing user: manage campaigns, switch email journeys on and off or adjust them, and build basic reports.
  • Identify and evaluate higher-education, scientific and industry events where Constructor Labs should take part as speaker, partner or sponsor, and coordinate participation with the events and PR teams.

Success Metrics and KPIs: pipeline generated, qualified leads and engagement from target accounts, conversion rates, return on events.

Planning, Budget & Orchestration

  • Own the marketing plan and budget for Constructor Labs: allocate and control spend and take responsibility for the results.
  • Orchestrate the shared marketing team (performance, web, social, CRM, design, PR and events): set priorities, briefs, timelines and deliverables, and deliver part of the work yourself.
  • Act as the single point of contact for all marketing topics, working closely with researchers, business development and leadership to align marketing with commercial and research priorities.
  • Set goals, targets and KPIs; track performance and report regularly to leadership.

Accountability: plan delivered on time and within budget, KPI targets met, quality of collaboration with the shared team.

Requirements

  • Solid B2B marketing experience in research, higher education, EdTech or a related environment. Understanding of research and education is key for this role.
  • A background in science or research: you understand how universities and scientists work, how research projects and publications come about and why they matter.
  • Proven experience with account-based marketing, ideally selling services to universities or enterprises with long, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
  • A track record of personally executing demand generation campaigns and contributing to pipeline growth.
  • Hands-on experience across key channels: performance marketing, websites (CMS, landing pages, basic SEO) and social media, enough to speak the same language as specialists and make basic changes yourself.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce as a marketing user (required). Experience with other CRM and marketing automation tools is a plus.
  • Experience owning a marketing plan and budget end to end.
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to translate complex research and education services into clear, persuasive messaging.
  • Strong market research and analytical skills, including competitor benchmarking, KPI setting and reporting.
  • Good understanding of the higher-education, scientific and industry events landscape and how to assess speaking, partnership and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Ownership mindset: you prioritise, take responsibility for deliverables and drive projects from planning through execution.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organisation with a shared team and diverse stakeholders.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken) for an international environment.
  • University degree; a PhD or other postgraduate research experience is a strong plus.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
