Requirements

At CONVOTIS Iberia we are looking for a Senior leader responsible for building and scaling a Graph, Ontology & Semantic practice within a Data capability. Combines deep technical credibility with business development skills to grow a team, define reusable assets and methodologies, and position the practice in the market. Works across industries and clients, from initial pursuit to delivery governance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Define the strategic roadmap of the Graph & Semantic practice: methodologies, reference architectures, reusable accelerators and frameworks.
  • Lead and grow a multidisciplinary team of architects and engineers specialized in graph modelling, ontology engineering, and semantic integration.
  • Drive business development: shape proposals, lead client workshops, respond to RFPs/RFIs, and build trusted relationships with Chief Data Officers and enterprise architects.
  • Ensure delivery quality across projects spanning knowledge graph construction, semantic data integration, MDM with ontological backbone, and AI-augmented data products.
  • Collaborate with AI, Cloud, and Industry practices to embed semantic capabilities into broader data and AI solutions.
  • Represent the practice in internal and external forums; contribute to thought leadership and PoCs.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 8–12 years in data and/or analytics roles, with at least 3–4 years leading graph or semantic-focused initiatives
  • Proven experience delivering enterprise Knowledge Graph or ontology projects across multiple industries (financial services, energy, retail, manufacturing, public sector…).
  • Strong command of ontology and graph standards: OWL, RDF, RDFS, SPARQL, SHACL, JSON-LD.
  • Hands-on background with graph databases: Neo4j, Amazon Neptune, Azure Cosmos DB, StarDog, GraphDB or similar.
  • Understanding of how semantic layers integrate with enterprise data ecosystems: data catalogues, MDM platforms, data governance tooling.
  • Awareness of LLM and GenAI integration patterns where knowledge graphs act as structured context (graph-RAG, entity resolution, semantic search).
  • Track record in consulting or systems integration environments: proposal writing, client advisory, team leadership.
  • Fluent English required; additional languages a plus depending on target markets.

Preferred Background:

  • Experience with industry-standard domain ontologies: FIBO (finance), CIM (energy/utilities), SNOMED/HL7 (healthcare), GS1 (retail/supply chain).
  • Familiarity with semantic web and linked data ecosystems.
  • Knowledge of Data Mesh or federated governance models where ontologies play a structural role.
  • Contributions to open-source graph or ontology communities.
