Key Responsibilities of an Energy Subject Matter Expert (SME)

  • Lead the technical assessment and development of energy efficiency and decarbonisation opportunities across client sites.
  • Analyse process and utility data to identify opportunities for energy reduction, waste heat recovery, and renewable integration.
  • Develop a deep understanding of a customer’s process with a view to identifying possible energy savings opportunities
  • Support the design and implementation of solutions across boilers, HVAC, refrigeration, compressed air, CHP, and process heating systems.
  • Work collaboratively with internal engineering, analytics, and project delivery teams — providing guidance, mentorship, and technical validation.
  • Assist in operationalising existing internal savings delivery workflows and increase the rate of savings delivery
  • Serve as a trusted advisor for internal teams as they develop new offerings and approaches that maximise customer value.
  • Engage directly with clients to translate technical findings into actionable business insights and investment-ready opportunities.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, OEMs, and contractors to ensure the successful delivery of high-performance energy projects.
  • Contribute to the development of CoolPlanet’s best practices, tools, and methodologies for energy optimisation and sustainability.
  • Deeply understand customer processes and possible savings opportunities
  • Assist in operationalising existing internal savings delivery workflows and increase the rate of savings delivery
  • Operationalising and systemising solutions

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
