The posting

The Company Powerhouse Generation (PHG) is a leading energy management and Demand Side Unit (DSU) aggregator operating across the all-island electricity market. We act as a virtual power station, connecting large commercial, industrial, and institutional energy users, such as manufacturing plants, hospitals, and commercial facilities, directly to the power grid. By optimising real-time electricity demand and enabling remote grid balancing, we empower our clients to unlock new revenue streams, reduce carbon impacts, and contribute to a more stable, sustainable energy grid.

Strategic Context Powerhouse Generation’s growth agenda includes converting the iSEM sales pipeline into contracted MW capacity for the 2027/28 capacity year, expanding existing customer relationships, progressing new industrial and energy-intensive customers, and building a repeatable pipeline for subsequent years. The role must keep near-term contract conversion on track while supporting longer-term growth opportunities. The individual is not simply responsible for producing reports: they are expected to drive actions and help opportunities progress.

The Role This is a high-impact role for an ambitious commercial analyst or business development professional who wants broad exposure to strategy, customers, energy markets and executive decision-making. Success means the CGO has better information, more time with strategic customers, fewer stalled actions and a materially higher probability of delivering PHG’s contracted MW and growth objectives.

The Purpose To act as the Chief Growth Officer’s commercial wingman, turning PHG’s growth strategy into a controlled programme of customer acquisition, contracted capacity, revenue and EBITDA growth. The role combines commercial analysis, account and pipeline management, project coordination and executive-level reporting. It is designed to increase the CGO’s capacity to win and expand strategic accounts by ensuring that opportunities are properly analysed, actions are followed through, internal blockers are surfaced early, and decisions are supported by reliable data.

Key responsibilities 1. Growth plan and execution

  • Translate the CGO’s growth priorities into a practical action plan with milestones, owners, dependencies and decision dates.
  • Maintain a clear view of contracted MW, forecast MW, probability-weighted pipeline, revenue and EBITDA implications where data is available.
  • Track progress against monthly targets and identify slippage, gaps and corrective actions early.
  • Coordinate cross-functional actions required to move opportunities from initial discussion through proposal, heads of terms, contract and readiness for registration/qualification.
  • Prepare concise decision papers and recommendations for the CGO and executive team.

2. Commercial pipeline and account management

  • Own the accuracy and discipline of the growth pipeline, including stage, validated MW, customer sponsor, next action, close date, capacity year and probability.
  • Prepare for and coordinate weekly pipeline reviews; record decisions, owners and deadlines, and chase actions through to completion.
  • Develop account plans for priority customers and support the CGO with customer research, stakeholder maps, meeting briefs and follow-up notes.
  • Support multi-site and group-level commercial propositions, standardised site schedules, proposals, term sheets and framework agreements.
  • Identify stalled deals, understand the blocker, coordinate a recovery plan and recommend when an opportunity should be re-scoped, re-priced, re-timed or closed.
  • Support early-stage qualification of prospects by collecting site data, validating potential MW and coordinating technical/commercial assessment.

3. Market, data and commercial analysis

  • Analyse customer sites, flexibility potential, operating profiles, available capacity and relevant market routes in coordination with PHG’s technical and markets specialists.
  • Build and maintain commercial models, opportunity comparisons and sensitivities covering MW, revenue, costs, margin and EBITDA where inputs are available.
  • Research target sectors and accounts, including industrial and energy-intensive customers, data centres, battery energy storage and other relevant flexibility assets.
  • Track relevant market developments, customer investment plans and regulatory/market changes that may affect PHG’s proposition; flag implications rather than provide unsupported conclusions.
  • Challenge assumptions and data quality, distinguish verified facts from estimates, and make uncertainty visible in forecasts.

4. Contracting and delivery coordination

  • Coordinate the commercial workflow from proposal to signed agreement, working with legal, finance, technical and delivery colleagues.
  • Maintain a live list of contract, funding, technical, metering, registration and qualification dependencies for priority sites.
  • Ensure site capacity, expected availability date and capacity-year assumptions are reconciled before an opportunity is counted as deliverable.
  • Support preparation of customer and internal approval packs and keep a record of decisions and outstanding conditions.
  • Escalate risks that could prevent a site from meeting the relevant qualification or go-live deadline.

5. Executive support and operating rhythm

  • Prepare a short weekly growth dashboard and monthly executive scorecard.
  • Create concise customer meeting briefs, presentation materials, board/executive updates and follow-up action logs.
  • Maintain a single source of truth for pipeline data until a CRM or other system is implemented.
  • Organise growth review meetings and ensure the CGO’s time is focused on the decisions, relationships and negotiations with the greatest impact.
  • Handle commercially sensitive information with discretion and maintain high standards of accuracy and confidentiality.

What We’re Looking For Essential

  • Strong analytical and commercial skills, with confidence working with data, forecasts and business cases.
  • Excellent Excel skills; able to build and maintain structured models, dashboards and trackers. PowerPoint proficiency is also required.
  • Strong project coordination and follow-through: able to manage multiple opportunities, deadlines, dependencies and stakeholders.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to turn complex information into concise executive summaries.
  • Commercial judgement, curiosity and confidence to question assumptions, identify gaps and escalate risks constructively.
  • Highly organised, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with changing priorities.
  • Discretion when handling customer, contract, pricing and company information.
  • Willingness to learn the Irish and Northern Irish energy markets, flexibility services and relevant capacity/qualification processes.
  • Must have a full driver's licence and own travel

Desirable

  • Experience in energy, utilities, demand response, energy aggregation, flexibility, generation, BESS or industrial energy management.
  • Experience supporting business development, key accounts, commercial contracts or strategic growth programmes.
  • Familiarity with financial modelling, revenue/margin analysis, CRM tools and pipeline forecasting.
  • Experience coordinating technical, commercial, legal and operational teams.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience in business, finance, economics, engineering, energy or data analytics.

Personal attributes

  • A self-starter who anticipates what the CGO will need next.
  • Commercially assertive without overstepping decision authority.
  • Comfortable engaging with customers and senior internal stakeholders.
  • Practical and delivery-oriented: values signed contracts and completed actions over activity for its own sake.
  • Able to work independently, maintain attention to detail and keep momentum across a broad portfolio.

Location: Ireland / Northern Ireland, with travel to customer sites as required

Benefits:

  • Employee Share Options Scheme
  • Competitive Salary
  • Private medical insurance
  • Company pension
  • Company social events
  • Gym on site
  • Parking on site
  • Additional days leave
  • Bike to work scheme
  • Devices: Company phone and laptop

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
