About the Team

Our Data Center Operations team is at the physical core of our business, responsible for building, maintaining, and operating the infrastructure that powers the cloud. We are seeking Data Center Technicians across a range of experience levels to ensure service availability, physical reliability, and operational excellence across our facilities.

In this salaried, 100% on-site position, you will perform hands-on hardware and network diagnostics, equipment installations, structured cabling, and physical repairs. Your responsibilities and level of autonomy will match your experience, with opportunities to build technical skills and take on more complex work. Candidates will be leveled during the interview process based on technical expertise, depth of experience, and problem-solving ability.

This role requires participation in a rotating on-call schedule. You must live within 60 minutes of the site to support on-call responsibilities and be able to travel up to 15% to other data center locations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Center Operations & Maintenance: Assemble, rack, stack, and maintain data center server, storage, and networking hardware. Maintain hot/cold aisle containment, conduct inventory audits, and perform routine physical maintenance.
  • Diagnostics & Repair: Conduct hardware and network diagnostics on live and offline systems. Troubleshoot issues reported through tickets, replace components, and perform physical repairs.
  • Equipment Deployment: Support equipment installations, device provisioning, and operating system installations, taking on more complex troubleshooting and deployment work as your experience grows.
  • Structured Cabling & Security: Maintain high standards of cable management and structured cabling, and follow physical and cybersecurity protocols.
  • Process & Documentation: Maintain accurate inventory records and ticket updates. Contribute to standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical documentation, and process improvements.
  • Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Collaborate with local and cross-functional teams to support operational readiness. Share knowledge and contribute to team training and development.
  • On-Call & Response: Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and be available to arrive on-site within 60 minutes when an incident requires hands-on support.

Qualifications:

  • Hardware Foundation: Hands-on experience or coursework in computer hardware assembly, installation, and physical and logical troubleshooting.
  • Operating Systems & Networking: Familiarity with Linux operating systems and fundamental networking concepts.
  • Problem-Solving & Judgment: Ability to follow established procedures, prioritize tasks, troubleshoot technical issues, and recognize when to ask for guidance or escalate.
  • Communication & Teamwork: Strong organizational and communication skills, a collaborative and curious mindset, and a commitment to high reliability standards.
  • Learning & Development: Willingness to build technical skills, learn new systems, and take on responsibilities that match your experience.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform the following essential duties, with or without reasonable accommodation: Move and position equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Remain in a stationary position for extended periods while performing diagnostics and repairs. Access equipment in confined spaces, under-floor areas, and on ladders. Handle small hardware components, connectors, and cabling with precision. Work in data center environments with hot/cold aisle temperatures ranging from 60°F to 90°F.

Preferred Skills:

  • Associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Networking, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience in enterprise or commercial data center environments.
  • Experience with Linux OS administration, command-line tools, and device provisioning.
  • Scripting and automation experience with Python, Bash, or shell scripts.
  • Networking experience with Cisco IOS, Juniper Junos, or enterprise switch/router configurations.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, or Linux+.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
