The posting

The National is hiring for a Banquet Set-Up. You should join our team if you believe...

That the details of an event can make an ordinary gathering feel extraordinary. That a beautifully prepared meeting or event space creates the right first impression for every guest. That teamwork, communication, and preparation are essential to successful events. That every table, chair, linen, sign, and decorative detail has a purpose in creating an UNMATCHED MOMENT. That being willing to jump in, adapt, and help wherever needed is what makes a great Banquets team. That a clean, organized, and well-maintained event space helps guests feel welcomed, comfortable, and cared for.

You’re a great fit for this role if you love...

Bringing event spaces to life by setting up tables, chairs, podiums, staging, risers, dance floors, signs, decorations, and other banquet equipment. Reading and following Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), function sheets, diagrams, and instructions to ensure each event is set exactly as requested. Preparing meeting rooms and banquet spaces by vacuuming, cleaning walls, windows, mirrors, and other areas according to company standards. Picking up and delivering equipment and supplies to scheduled event spaces. Safely transporting, setting up, breaking down, and storing tables, chairs, and other banquet equipment. Reviewing daily calendars and event function sheets and adjusting room setups based on changes or instructions from Banquet Management and Sales/Catering. Refreshing meeting rooms with linens, meeting pads, pens, pencils, candy, and other supplies as needed. Keeping service corridors, pre-function areas, meeting spaces, and storage areas clean, organized, and ready for the next event. Servicing meeting rooms by removing trash, dirty dishes, glasses, cups, and linens throughout an event. Jumping in to handle unexpected spills, move furniture, or assist with last-minute event needs. Performing basic care and light maintenance on equipment and promptly communicating repair needs. Interacting with guests in a professional, courteous, and service-oriented manner. Working closely with Banquet Management, Banquet Captains, Sales/Catering, and fellow Curators to ensure events run smoothly.

We’re excited to have you join us because...

You understand that successful events are built on preparation, precision, and attention to detail. You can follow detailed instructions, diagrams, and event specifications accurately. You are organized and comfortable managing multiple tasks while maintaining a positive, outgoing attitude. You communicate effectively with leaders, coworkers, vendors, and guests. You listen carefully and know when to ask questions or clarify instructions. You take initiative and are willing to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities. You are dependable and willing to adjust to changing event needs and business volume. You understand the importance of maintaining clean, organized, and guest-ready spaces throughout every event. You are comfortable working behind the scenes while still providing friendly and professional guest service. You are willing to work varied schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs. You take pride in knowing that the work you do behind the scenes helps create memorable experiences for every guest.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
