The posting

The Loom Hotel in Warwick, Rhode Island, is hiring for a Bartender. You should join our team if you believe...

That a memorable beverage experience combines thoughtful preparation, genuine hospitality, and a little personality. That a great bartender does more than prepare drinks—they create connections and set the tone for the guest experience. That every cocktail, glass of wine, and alcohol-free beverage should be prepared and presented with care. That details matter, from accurate recipes and responsible portions to polished glassware and a welcoming bar. That responsible alcohol service is essential to protecting guests, Curators, and the hotel. That strong communication between the Bar, Restaurant, Culinary team, Host, Servers, and leadership keeps service running smoothly. That even the busiest evening can be handled with professionalism, composure, and genuine warmth.

You’re a great fit for this role if you love...

Welcoming guests warmly and helping them feel comfortable at the bar. Preparing and serving cocktails, beer, wine, specialty beverages, and alcohol-free options according to established recipes and standards. Learning the beverage menu and making thoughtful recommendations based on guest preferences. Taking food and beverage orders accurately and entering them promptly into the point-of-sale system. Checking identification and following all responsible alcohol-service requirements. Monitoring guest consumption and responding appropriately when service must be slowed or discontinued. Processing cash, credit-card, room-charge, and other payment transactions accurately. Setting up the bar with the liquor, wine, beer, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and supplies needed for service. Maintaining accurate inventory, portion control, and proper handling of all beverage products. Preparing garnishes, restocking supplies, and keeping the bar organized throughout the shift. Communicating clearly with Servers, Hosts, Culinary Curators, and leaders regarding orders and guest needs. Keeping the bar, equipment, storage areas, and guest-facing spaces clean and polished. Completing opening, closing, cleaning, and side-work responsibilities thoroughly. Remaining calm and attentive when tickets begin printing, the bar fills up, and everyone suddenly remembers their favorite complicated cocktail. Creating the kind of welcoming experience that makes guests want to stay for another round—or return during their next visit.

We’re excited to have you join us because...

You understand that beverage quality and responsible service are equally important. You are friendly, approachable, and comfortable connecting with guests from different backgrounds. You can balance conversation and hospitality with speed, accuracy, and attention to detail. You remain composed and solutions-focused during high-volume service. You communicate clearly and professionally with guests, Curators, and leaders. You understand cocktail preparation, wine and beer service, sanitation, portion control, and bar organization. You are comfortable learning recipes, menus, hotel systems, and point-of-sale technology. You can recognize when a guest should not receive additional alcohol and respond professionally. You are dependable, organized, and ready to support the restaurant team throughout your shift. You believe that the best bar experiences are remembered for both the beverage and the hospitality behind it.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous bartending, restaurant, beverage-service, or hospitality experience required. Hotel, full-service restaurant, or upscale bar experience preferred. Knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, and alcohol-free beverages. Ability to follow standardized recipes and portion-control requirements. Strong verbal communication and guest-service skills. Ability to learn and use point-of-sale and hotel systems. Ability to process cash, credit-card, room-charge, and other payment transactions accurately. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper beverage-handling procedures. Alcohol-service and food-handler certifications required or must be obtained within the timeframe established by the hotel and applicable law. Strong organization, multitasking, and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a restaurant team. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs. Bilingual communication skills preferred, but not required.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Ability to bend, reach, twist, kneel, lift, carry, push, and pull repeatedly. Ability to lift or move up to 40 pounds as needed. Ability to carry bottles, glassware, ice, beverage supplies, trays, and service items safely. Ability to safely use bar tools, glassware, knives, beverage equipment, and point-of-sale technology. Ability to work around broken glass, sharp objects, cleaning products, varying noise levels, and potentially slippery floors. Ability to work in refrigerated storage areas and varying temperatures as needed. Ability to perform repetitive beverage-preparation tasks accurately. Ability to communicate effectively with guests and Curators during active service. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism, cleanliness, and attention to detail.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
