The posting

The Loom Hotel in Warwick, Rhode Island, is hiring for a Restaurant Host. You should join our team if you believe...

That a memorable dining experience begins before guests ever reach their table. That a warm welcome, genuine smile, and thoughtful first impression can set the tone for the entire meal. That hospitality means helping every guest feel recognized, comfortable, and cared for. That details matter, from accurate reservations and seating preferences to special occasions and accessibility needs. That strong communication between the Host, Servers, Bartenders, Culinary team, and restaurant leadership keeps service running smoothly. That organization and composure are especially important when the dining room is busy. That every guest interaction is an opportunity to create an unmatched moment.

You’re a great fit for this role if you love...

Welcoming guests warmly and creating a polished first impression. Managing reservations, walk-in guests, waitlists, and seating arrangements accurately. Escorting guests to their tables and presenting menus with professionalism. Learning the restaurant layout, table numbers, menu offerings, hours, and hotel amenities. Balancing seating across service sections to support an efficient flow for guests and Servers. Answering telephone calls and responding to questions about reservations, menus, events, and restaurant services. Recognizing special occasions, seating preferences, accessibility needs, and other guest requests. Communicating wait times clearly and keeping guests informed when tables are not immediately available. Coordinating with Servers, Bartenders, Culinary Curators, and leaders regarding table readiness and guest needs. Monitoring the dining room and helping maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming entrance. Assisting with menus, table settings, takeout orders, and other restaurant needs when appropriate. Remaining calm and gracious when the entrance becomes busy, the telephone is ringing, and everyone would like their favorite table at once. Thanking guests sincerely as they leave and inviting them to return. Taking pride in being both the first welcome and the final farewell of the dining experience.

We’re excited to have you join us because...

You understand that the Host sets the tone for the entire restaurant experience. You are friendly, approachable, and comfortable connecting with guests from different backgrounds. You can balance warm hospitality with organization, accuracy, and efficiency. You communicate clearly and professionally with guests, Curators, and leaders. You remain composed and solutions-focused when managing wait times, special requests, or changing seating needs. You can learn reservation systems, table assignments, restaurant information, and hotel offerings. You notice details and anticipate what guests or fellow Curators may need. You understand the importance of treating every guest fairly while managing reservations and seating priorities. You bring dependability, professionalism, and a service-first mindset to every shift. You believe that making someone feel genuinely welcomed is an important part of great hospitality.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous restaurant, customer-service, Front Desk, or hospitality experience preferred. Hotel, full-service restaurant, or upscale dining experience is a plus. Strong verbal communication and guest-service skills. Ability to learn and use restaurant reservation and seating-management systems. Ability to manage reservations, waitlists, telephone calls, and guest requests accurately. Strong organization, multitasking, and time-management skills. Ability to communicate wait times and address guest concerns professionally. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a restaurant team. Familiarity with Warwick, Providence, and surrounding Rhode Island destinations preferred. Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs. Bilingual communication skills preferred, but not required.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Ability to move throughout the restaurant, hotel lobby, and other guest-facing areas. Ability to use telephones, tablets, reservation systems, and other restaurant technology. Ability to bend, reach, lift, carry, push, and pull menus, chairs, supplies, and service items. Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds as needed. Ability to escort guests and assist with seating arrangements safely. Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through electronic systems. Ability to work around food, beverages, cleaning products, varying noise levels, and potentially slippery floors. Ability to work in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
