From crave-worthy breakfasts to satisfying lunches and late-night favorites, we serve up comfort food with a side of good vibes in the heart of downtown San Diego. We're looking for a culinary Experience Curator who takes pride in their craft, thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, and knows that great food is about more than what's on the plate. If you're ready to bring your skills, creativity, and passion to the line, it's time to turn up the heat!

🎸 Your Mission As our Cook I, you'll help bring the MaryJane's Diner experience to life by preparing and cooking delicious, consistent, high-quality dishes. You'll work alongside our culinary team to keep the kitchen running smoothly, maintain food quality and presentation, and deliver the flavors our guests keep coming back for.

🎤 What You'll Do ✨ Bring the Flavor

✅ Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines. ✅ Keep food quality, consistency, and timing on point during every service. ✅ Ensure ingredients are fresh, properly handled, and ready for the next order. ✅ Follow food preparation procedures and accommodate guest preferences or special requests as directed.

🎸 Keep the Kitchen in Rhythm

✅ Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked workstation throughout your shift. ✅ Assist with daily prep, ingredient storage, stock rotation, and inventory control. ✅ Communicate and coordinate with fellow cooks and service team members to keep orders flowing. ✅ Jump in wherever needed to support kitchen operations and keep service running smoothly.

✅ Follow food safety, sanitation, and kitchen safety standards at all times. ✅ Properly store ingredients and label food according to established procedures. ✅ Complete assigned cleaning duties and end-of-shift responsibilities. ✅ Take pride in your work, follow direction, and contribute to a collaborative kitchen culture.

💎 You're a Great Fit If You... ✨ Have at least one year of culinary experience in a hotel, restaurant, diner, or similar food service environment. ✨ Know your way around a busy kitchen and can prepare dishes with speed, accuracy, and consistency. ✨ Take pride in food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and attention to detail. ✨ Stay composed under pressure and adapt quickly when priorities change. ✨ Communicate effectively, work well with others, and understand that teamwork makes the kitchen run. ✨ Bring a positive attitude, initiative, and a genuine passion for food and hospitality. ✨ Are available to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.

🎓 Experience & Qualifications

Minimum of one year of culinary or professional food preparation experience preferred. Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant or hotel kitchen is a plus. Knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety practices. Ability to follow recipes, portion standards, and sanitation procedures. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and consistency. Food Handler Card or other applicable food safety certification, as required.
