Overview

  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems engineering processes and documentation, including Systems Engineering Plans (SEPs), configuration management plans, risk management plans, and integrated master plans, ensuring alignment with product objectives and integrated master schedules (IMS).
  • Oversee systems engineering activities for classified and unclassified PM PNT products, including concept development; requirements analysis, development, derivation, and documentation; system design and architecture; modeling and simulation; integration, test, and evaluation; hardware and software validation; host platform integration; and field demonstrations.
  • Lead engineering coordination for technical reviews, including Software Specification Reviews (SSR), System Requirements Reviews (SRR), System Functional Reviews (SFR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), Critical Design Reviews (CDR), Production Readiness Reviews (PRR), Functional Configuration Audits (FCA), and Physical Configuration Audits (PCA). Assess technical readiness, recommend improvements, and oversee resolution of engineering issues and review actions.
  • Guide engineering participation in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), working groups, and technical meetings, coordinating inputs from subject matter experts and developing actionable recommendations for PM PNT leadership.
  • Oversee the integration of PM PNT products with client systems on Army platforms, addressing operational benefits and constraints, interoperability with current and emerging warfighting capabilities, sustainment, and doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership and education, personnel, and facilities (DOTMLPF) impacts.
  • Ensure systems engineering activities and documentation align with applicable DoD guidance and regulations and the systems engineering principles of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Standard 1220.
  • Guide the development, review, and maintenance of Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) products and other engineering artifacts, ensuring consistency across requirements, architectures, configurations, and program plans.
  • Lead technical assessments of existing products and emerging PNT and augmentation technologies. Evaluate requirements, materiel solutions, applications, strategies, tactics, and training to determine technical feasibility and alignment with product performance objectives, cost goals, and schedules.
  • Provide engineering oversight and recommendations for sensor design; hardware, software, and network integration; experimentation; and demonstrations of PM PNT products and technologies.
  • Oversee engineering review and technical input for acquisition documentation submitted through PM PNT leadership, including Statements of Objectives (SOOs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Performance Work Statements (PWSs), performance specifications, and associated solicitation documentation. Provide technical advice and assistance during proposal evaluations.
  • Oversee the review of technical data artifacts for acceptability, maintain product-data relationships, and guide the establishment and maintenance of requirements databases supporting customer requirements analysis, product planning, systems engineering, and configuration management.

Expected duties include but are not limited to...

  • Support the Director of Systems Engineering in establishing and updating engineering standards and interfaces, defining and implementing knowledge management practices, and establishing digital engineering policy.
  • Lead evaluations of complex technical problems, integrate input from subject matter experts, and present findings, alternatives, risks, and recommendations to support O6-level decisions.
  • Coordinate engineering priorities, dependencies, and technical actions across stakeholders to advance program objectives and resolve issues affecting execution.
  • Exercise independent judgment and critical thinking to manage engineering efforts toward leadership’s overarching intent, identifying when decisions require leadership input and elevating issues with clear recommendations.

Requirements

  • Active secret security clearance is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or systems engineering field with ten years’ (10) experience, or a master’s degree with eight years’ (8) experience in systems engineering for DoD systems

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
