Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The RAPID division is the world leading provider of reticle inspection solutions for the semiconductor industry. The company provides inspection solutions to both the mask shops and the semiconductor fabs to ensure that lithography yields are consistently high thus enabling cost-effective manufacturing.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

  • Own overall system performance, stability, and customer success for the Taiwan 8xx installed base, including availability, inspection sensitivity, image quality, throughput, and repeatability.
  • Develop technical depth and ownership within the local systems engineering team through coaching, structured training, technical reviews, and succession planning.
  • Lead complex, cross-subsystem troubleshooting involving electron optics, detectors, stages, vacuum, electronics, software, algorithms, calibration, and image-processing pipelines.
  • Establish a structured escalation process for high-severity customer issues, including containment, technical root-cause analysis, recovery planning, executive communication, and corrective-action tracking.
  • Serve as the primary technical interface between Taiwan customers, local service and applications teams, product engineering, program management, marketing, and headquarters.
  • Translate customer requirements and fab use cases into clear system requirements, priorities, acceptance criteria, and product-improvement proposals.
  • Drive qualification, acceptance, and high-volume manufacturing readiness across multiple customer-site systems.
  • Coordinate effectively across Taiwan and U.S. time zones and provide concise technical and management updates during critical escalations.
  • Build trusted relationships with demanding technical customers and communicate technical risks, limitations, and recovery plans clearly under pressure.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctorate (Academic) Degree and related work experience of 4 years; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 6 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 9 years.
  • Demonstrated people-management or technical-leadership experience, including coaching engineers, assigning priorities, and leading teams through high-pressure technical escalations.
  • Significant experience supporting complex semiconductor capital equipment in customer fabs or similarly demanding production environments.
  • Proven ability to perform system-level integration and root-cause analysis across hardware, software, algorithms, and process interactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority and drive issues to closure across geographical and organizational boundaries.
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical findings, risks, trade-offs, and recovery plans to both engineers and senior leaders.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese, with the ability to conduct technical discussions and prepare clear written communication in English.
  • Open to up to 25% global travel.
