Job description

The Lab Technician plays a vital role in maintaining an efficient, safe, and organized lab environment. This position supports engineering teams by managing inventory, equipment, logistics, and general lab upkeep. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, Customer-Service focused, and experienced in working within an electronics lab setting. This role ensures that all lab materials—including evaluation boards, electronic equipment, computer components, and general supplies—are readily available and properly maintained to support day‑to‑day engineering activities.

Base salary range is $25 - $45 an hour. The base salary offer will depend on factors such as education, experience, training, skills, qualifications, and location. This position is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, equity and a full range of medical and other benefits.

Qualifications

  • Two or more years of experience working in an electronics lab environment, with experience in inventory management (familiarity with electronics and computer components preferred) and fundamental knowledge of computer hardware and software.
  • Strong organizational abilities and high attention to detail, with a basic understanding of lab safety standards and compliance practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively across Engineering, IT, Facilities, Purchasing, and Accounting.
  • Experience with asset management processes is a plus.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and organize inventory of evaluation boards, electronic components, computers, and related hardware, monitoring supply levels and replenishing materials so engineers have continuous access to what they need; perform light purchasing as needed to keep the lab stocked with components, tools, and consumables.
  • Keep lab spaces clean, organized, and safe (workbenches, doors, floors), monitor environmental factors such as air quality and noise levels, and manage recycling and waste disposal; organize and maintain equipment storage areas for safe and efficient access.
  • Provide hands-on support to engineering teams, including setup of test equipment, evaluation boards, and other lab materials; communicate regularly with engineers to understand needs and resolve lab-related issues; perform routine checks and basic upkeep on lab computers and equipment.
  • Pack and ship lab materials for engineering and sales teams with secure packaging and timely delivery, coordinating with the Shanghai office on international shipping and logistics; assist with trade show preparation, including organizing inventory, packing materials, and supporting shipping.
  • Partner with IT on data storage, secure access, and lab IT systems (including internet connectivity) and with Facilities on electrical systems, HVAC, and safety compliance; manage rental equipment, maintain accurate asset records for items valued above $5,000 USD, and conduct annual asset audits with Purchasing and Accounting.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
