Job Description: Service Assistant (Cruise Ship)

Position: Service Assistant Department: Food & Beverage Location: Onboard a cruise ship

Job Overview

The Service Assistant supports the Food & Beverage team in delivering excellent guest service by maintaining clean service areas, assisting with food and beverage operations, and ensuring guests enjoy a pleasant dining experience onboard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist waiters and other service staff during meal services.
  • Set up and clear tables, trays, and dining areas.
  • Refill water, beverages, and other service items as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in dining and service areas.
  • Ensure cutlery, crockery, glassware, and service equipment are clean and properly arranged.
  • Support the smooth running of restaurant and buffet operations.
  • Respond to guest requests politely and professionally.
  • Follow company health, safety, and food hygiene standards.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in hospitality, food service, or a similar role is an advantage.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good personal hygiene and attention to detail.
  • English proficiency; additional languages are an advantage.
