Position Overview: As a Utility Worker on a cruise ship, you will be responsible for providing support to various departments to ensure the smooth operation of the ship. Your role is crucial in maintaining a clean and organized environment, assisting in the maintenance and repair of equipment, and supporting the needs of guests and crew members. You will work under the supervision of the Head Utility or department managers and collaborate with different teams to fulfill daily tasks. Your reliability, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will contribute to a positive guest experience onboard.

Responsibilities:

  1. Cleaning and Sanitation: Perform general cleaning duties in public areas, crew areas, and other designated areas of the ship. Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors, dust surfaces, and clean windows and glass. Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and other fixtures. 2. Waste Management: Sort and separate recyclable materials from general waste. Assist in the collection and disposal of waste according to established procedures. Maintain cleanliness and organization in waste storage areas.
  3. Equipment Maintenance and Support: Assist in the maintenance and repair of equipment, such as laundry machines, dishwashers, and other appliances. Report equipment malfunctions or damages to the appropriate personnel. Assist engineering staff in minor repairs and preventive maintenance tasks.
  4. Supply Inventory and Stocking: Assist in inventory management, including receiving, storing, and distributing supplies. Maintain organized storage areas for cleaning supplies, equipment, and spare parts. Monitor stock levels and inform the supervisor when replenishment is needed. Assist with the delivery and distribution of supplies to different departments.
  5. Guest and Crew Assistance: Provide assistance to guests and crew members as needed, including answering questions and directing them to the appropriate locations. Assist in luggage handling during embarkation and disembarkation processes. Deliver requested items to guest cabins or crew areas.
  6. Safety and Security: Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards, incidents, or maintenance issues to the supervisor. Participate in safety drills and training activities as required.
  7. Collaboration and Communication: Maintain effective communication with supervisors, colleagues, and other departments. Assist and support other departments when necessary, such as Housekeeping, Food and Beverage, or Engineering. Attend departmental meetings and briefings.

Qualifications:

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
