About Crunchyroll

Crunchyroll connects anime fans around the world with the stories, characters, creators, and communities they love. Regional Localization & Operations makes Crunchyroll’s content, products, communications, and fan experiences locally relevant, accessible, operationally ready, and consistently executed across markets.

About the Role

The Senior Manager, Content Operations - Asia + MENA will lead the operational readiness, delivery, and ongoing management of Crunchyroll’s content across Asia and MENA, based in Mumbai. This role will ensure that titles, episodes, metadata, artwork, subtitles, dubs, ratings, rights information, partner assets, and related content components are complete, accurate, compliant, and available on time across relevant platforms and channels.

You will work across Content, Localization & Dubbing, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Partnerships, Creative Services, Communications, Legal, Customer Experience, Data, Finance, and external vendors and distribution partners. The role will connect content planning with execution, ensuring that regional launches are delivered smoothly and that operational issues are identified, escalated, and resolved quickly.

This is a highly collaborative role requiring strong content operations expertise, project management discipline, attention to detail, stakeholder management, and the ability to operate across multiple markets, time zones, platforms, and launch priorities.

Role Overview - Lead Regional Content Operations

  • Develop and manage content operations processes for Asia and MENA across content intake, planning, preparation, delivery, launch, and post-launch support.
  • Establish clear workflows, operating standards, ownership models, timelines, dependencies, and escalation paths for regional content execution.
  • Coordinate the operational lifecycle of titles and episodes across direct-to-consumer, distribution, partner, and à la carte channel experiences.
  • Ensure content packages are complete, accurate, and delivered according to market, platform, partner, and launch requirements.
  • Maintain visibility into content readiness, delivery status, risks, dependencies, capacity constraints, and open issues across the region.

Drive Launch and Market Readiness

  • Lead regional content readiness for new title launches, seasonal programming, simulcasts, catalog releases, campaigns, partner activations, and market expansions.
  • Build and maintain launch checklists, readiness trackers, milestone plans, and operational dashboards.
  • Coordinate with Content, Localization & Dubbing, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Partnerships, Communications, Customer Experience, and Legal to ensure launch requirements are met.
  • Confirm that localized content dubs, and partner deliverables are ready for launch.
  • Identify launch risks early and drive mitigation plans, escalation, and resolution.
  • Support post-launch reviews to identify operational gaps, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities.

Manage local Content Assets

  • Oversee the readiness, accuracy, and delivery of content assets, including video files, audio tracks, and dubs
  • Establish quality-control checks for content packages and coordinate correction of missing, inaccurate, or technically non-compliant assets.
  • Partner with Localization & Dubbing teams to track language coverage, dubbing delivery, subtitle readiness, and quality-control status.
  • Ensure content information is consistent across internal systems, consumer experiences, partner platforms, and distribution channels.
  • Maintain effective asset tracking, version control, documentation, and auditability across the content lifecycle.

Coordinate Partners and Vendors

  • Manage operational relationships with localization vendors, dubbing studios, post-production providers, content aggregators, distribution partners, platforms, and other external service providers.
  • Establish clear briefs, delivery specifications, service levels, schedules, quality expectations, and issue-resolution processes.
  • Monitor vendor and partner performance across timeliness, completeness, quality, responsiveness, capacity, and cost.
  • Coordinate onboarding, operational reviews, performance improvement plans, and continuous process enhancement for relevant partners.
  • Ensure partner and vendor deliverables are aligned with Crunchyroll’s regional launch and content standards.

Support Regional and Global Collaboration

  • Serve as a key operational contact between Asia and MENA regional teams, global Content Operations, Localization, Product, Engineering, and other enterprise functions.
  • Translate regional market requirements and operational needs into clear inputs for global planning and platform processes.
  • Coordinate handoffs, dependencies, decisions, and actions across teams operating in different markets and time zones.
  • Provide clear reporting on readiness, performance, operational risks, incidents, and actions required from regional or global stakeholders.
  • Build strong working relationships across a matrixed organization and influence outcomes without formal authority.

Improve Operational Quality and Scale

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, workflows, templates, checklists, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, and scale content operations across Asia and MENA.
  • Analyze recurring defects, delays, incidents, and operational bottlenecks to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Establish and track operational metrics such as readiness, on-time delivery, asset completeness, defect rates, issue aging, vendor performance, and launch quality.
  • Share best practices and market learnings across regional and global teams.
  • Support business continuity, incident response, and operational resilience for content delivery and availability.

Experience and qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in content operations, media operations, streaming operations, localization operations, post-production, distribution operations, or a related field.
  • Experience managing content delivery and operational readiness across multiple markets, platforms, channels, or distribution partners.
  • Strong understanding of content supply chains, including video and dubs, technical delivery requirements.
  • Experience coordinating complex launches with multiple dependencies, stakeholders, vendors, and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and improve operational processes, workflows, checklists, dashboards, and quality-control frameworks.
  • Experience managing external vendors, content providers, localization partners, post-production teams, or distribution partners.
  • Strong project management, organization, prioritization, and issue-resolution skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with Content, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Partnerships, Localization, Legal, Customer Experience, Data, and global teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high standard for content accuracy, completeness, quality, and timeliness.
  • Ability to analyze operational data, identify root causes, and translate findings into practical improvements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide concise executive and operational updates.
  • Comfort working across time zones and in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment.
  • Willingness to travel regionally and internationally as required.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of relevant Asia or MENA languages is a significant plus.
  • Knowledge and passion for anime, entertainment, streaming, and fan communities is a significant plus.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
