Job Description

We are looking for a talented Materials Technician to join our 1st Shift team specializing in Logistics for our Cummins Inc. facility in Maxton, NC.

Job Summary:

Under direct or close supervision, follow established procedures and guidelines to receive, handle, store, perform system transactions and dispatch goods in a factory or warehouse. Receive incoming goods; check for damage and for discrepancies between goods and invoices. Accurately sort, label, and store goods; arrange storage to optimize warehouse space. Pick, pack, and dispatch outgoing goods according to written or verbal requests or orders.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Ensuring Safety: By stopping work and reporting any major injury hazards immediately, you'll help maintain a safe working environment.

• Compliance and Reporting: Your adherence to HSE standards and prompt reporting of any work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, or hazards will ensure compliance and improve workplace safety.

• Environmental Stewardship: Recognizing and minimizing the negative impact of your work on the environment will contribute to sustainable practices.

• Quality Assurance: Performing quality checks and identifying non-conforming materials will help maintain high standards and reduce costs.

• Efficient Delivery: Accurately receiving, sorting, labeling, and storing goods will optimize warehouse space and improve delivery efficiency.

• Team Collaboration: Effective communication with your team and support teams will foster a collaborative work environment and drive continuous improvement.

• Training and Development: Engaging in HSE training and completing business-required training will enhance your skills and knowledge, benefiting both you and the organization.

• Maintaining Order: Keeping your work area clean and orderly, and performing routine housekeeping and maintenance tasks, will ensure a safe and efficient workspace.

Education, Licenses, Certifications: • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience: • Minimal or no work experience required.

Qualifications

• Over time as needed • Must be able to lift/push/pull 35lbs

Base Rate: $17.75 - $21.50/hr
